Cheers to 18 years!

Hello friends! It's been a while since my last post here. In this blog post, I'll tell you about my debut party, although my birthday was last month. I was only able to write about this now due our midterm exams and lots of works and events in school.

Having a debut celebration is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I have been dreaming of having my own debut party since I was young. It's hard to believe that I'm already 18 years old now, as time seems to have flown by so quickly. I still vividly recall turning 16 not too long ago, and now that I've reached the legal age, and now I am at a legal age, and I know some things will be different now.

In March 16th last month, I officially became a legal adult. Although we had initially planned to celebrate my birthday on the weekend, I believe it's more appropriate to celebrate it on the actual day. Despite having classes on that day, it's not a problem since we only have a half-day, and I can still help my cousins with the preparations.

After finishing all the preparations, it was finally time for me to get ready and dress up for the celebration. One of my cousins from Danao assisted me in doing my makeup and hair.

Here's the dress I wore for the celebration, which I also used during my photoshoot. It's really cute, and we added a petticoat to keep the dress in place and give it more shape. Since the dress was a bit short for me, I felt more comfortable wearing it with the petticoat. By the way, my cousin @spontaneoussober bought it for me. Hehe.

As I was getting ready, my guests started arriving, including my friends, family, and our family friends.

The party was scheduled to start at 4:30 pm, but it actually began around 5 pm because some of my guests had not yet arrived, and we decided to wait for them. Once everyone was settled, we started the celebration, and I stayed behind the curtain, waiting for my cousin to call me.

My cousin @jeennicious, who was the host, welcomed the guests and introduced my family first before introducing me. We then took a family picture together, and my father delivered a warm welcome message to everyone, along with a special message for me.

Following my father's message, it was time for my 18 roses. The individuals who presented me with the roses were my male cousins, uncles, and friends, but they were not enough to reach 18, so my boyfriend took the remaining roses and was my last dance.

After the dance it was time for my 18 shots, which we substituted for the traditional 18 candles and treasures. We used wine for the shots to ensure that no one got drunk. For my 18 shots, I invited all my female friends, aunties, and cousins. They each gave me a brief message and wished me well, and we all drank the wine together after that.

Following the 18 roses and 18 shots, we all sang "Happy Birthday" to me, and my mom and boyfriend held the cake while I made a wish and blew out the candles.

I expressed my gratitude to everyone and gave a thank-you message, and then we took a photo together of each table before starting to eat. After taking the photo, we said a prayer and blessed the food before enjoying the feast and continuing the celebration! eat eat eat and party party party!!

I never imagined having such an extravagant celebration for my birthday since I used to have simple gatherings in the past. I am deeply grateful to my family, particularly my mom and my cousins (@jeennicious and @spontaneoussober), for making this event possible. Their assistance and support were instrumental in making my debut party a success. From the decorations to the food and everything in between, everything was absolutely perfect. I am overwhelmed with joy, and I truly appreciate their efforts. Thanks to the people around me, my birthday became an extraordinary and unforgettable experience. This was a day I'll always remember, and I feel so lucky to have been blessed with it.
