So, another movie has come from DC, part two of Joker, (Name: Joker: Folie à Deux) and which means sharing the mental disorder with someone else.
In the movie there are another new character is Harley Quinn played by Lady Gaga,
Let's talk about the movie:
The story continues from the previous part. So it is very important to watch the previous part. In this part, investigation is going on in the murders that Joker keeps doing and there is a courtroom drama going on. In which, story wise you will find it to be a very slow paced drama. But still it keeps you hooked by Phoenix and Lady gaga's Gaga's performance. Especially Phoenix, the way he presented himself in two different characters, I mean as Arthur and Joker, it seemed as if this role was written for him. He has a complete song in mind which is literally one take shot of almost three to four minutes and it gives you goosebumps literally.
Till the first half the movie continues in one tone, no ups and downs are seen much even after the interval. climax Apart from this, everything continues from a single perspective, Arthur and his second identity and the journey continues in the court to prove that the murders have been committed by Arthur or by his different identity Joker.
The movie tests your patience, there is nothing impactful story wise in it and it feels more like a dark musical film which has almost six to seven staged songs.
Should you watch this movie?
It is not for everyone, not totally. There are people who like such strong performance based movies and performance wise, this movie is on the top, screen play and story wise, it is a very slow movie.
The climax scene has been written very well which will give you a glimpse of the future of Joker. Also leaves a hint about the movies, maybe you will feel bad in the end, why? if I say that then it will be a spoiler but it is a requirement of the story line, there is no need to stop after the movie is over, no credit scene at all .
I was excited about this movie when I heard about it but then the bad press started happening and western movies like this only stay in the theater for about a week or so. This particular film was only in Chiang Mai for a few days and according to my one friend who went to see it at the city's largest shopping mall said there was only about 10 people in the cinema on a friday evening showing. I'll wait to see it once it is streaming because I don't like the idea of them turning it into a musical. What was that all about?
As I said there, this movie is not for everyone as it's a little bit slow base. I think the jokar character is already a complex character. I also think that adding music makes the characters more alive and emotional. Thanks for your comment 💕
