Sublime Beautiful Sunday | Pre-Lunar Walkabout in the city

This is the last Sunday before we welcome the new Lunar New Year and it's the Year of the Tiger! If you're not familiar with the Chinese Animal Zodiac, there are 12 animals - pretty similar to the Western Astronomy Zodiac.

In Western astrology, the zodiac is divided into twelve signs, each occupying 30° of celestial longitude and roughly corresponding to the star constellations: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. The twelve animals that appear on the Chinese zodiac calendar — a rat, ox, tiger, rabbit (or hare), dragon, snake, horse, sheep (or goat), monkey, rooster, dog and pig — are the topic of countless legends embedded in Chinese mythology. The same zodiac animals are also used in many neighbouring cultures to China such as my own home country, Malaysia.

Unlike many others, I'm not going home to celebrate with my family. It's a choice that I chose to make so I have no regrets or disappointments why I'm thousands of miles away from my loved ones. After all, some of us must work in order to survive in this unexpected recovery of global economy. Every single dollar I can make & save will be essential for the rainy days which I'm confident is still countless & unknown even to the best fortune tellers or economist predictions.

I make the best of the days & nights that I have since it's a 9-days public holiday in Vietnam - the country which I'm currently working in for the last 3 years. The city of Ho Chi Minh has never been more busy during TET, the local word for Lunar festival in this country. I guess many decided that it's best to stay within the city rather than go home & be reunited with their families. I also see many families from other provinces spending their TET holiday in HCMC. Perhaps the word Cuti Cuti Vietnam; translates to Holiday Holiday Vietnam do exist here as well.

Let me share my walkabout photos of the City that never sleeps which I took today. Of yes, I managed to clocked in 19,477 steps today just by walking within the city. I would've gotten more but I was just too tired. Gotta keep some for the next few days.
