Harvesting Coconuts Here in The Farm, One Of Our Primary Source of Income And Making Another Garden Plot

Every two months, we harvested our coconuts here in the Farm. It needs to do coconut gathering for two days because there are lots of coconuts scattered to the ground. This is really a tiring job but I always enjoyed doing the tasks and I helped my Father so that His job will done and finished easily. I am very lucky to have these place, I can plant different kinds of valuable crops and vegetables and making my own simple Garden. Harvesting coconuts is one of our Primary source of income and my Parents earned sometimes 30,000 Pesos per harvest. Because of my Father's hard work and dedications, He already gained a good results behind of His hard works.

We sell the coconuts in pieces and each pieces cost at about 4 Pesos to Pesos depends on how big it is. On the first day, we requested five people to harvest coconuts. It is not easy to get coconuts from above especially when the coconut tree is high. It is really dangerous for them to do this kind of work as extra precautions should be taken. Almost 500 coconut trees were harvested on the first day so it took quite a while before all the coconuts were collected in one place. This is good to make it easier to haul it to another place where the vehicle that will pick it up can pass.

I also collect dry coconut leaves to make firewood for cooking food. Sometimes, I use this wall in my ornamental garden. I sell the other dry coconut stalks at the town market to earn money to help my parents. I make the other parts of the coconut leaves into broom sticks and sell them at the local market. A lot can be done with coconut, it can be sold and cashed.

I spent quite a lot of time to gather the coconuts that were on the ground, fortunately I was with my Father in gathering the coconuts and gathered them in one place. While we were in the middle of our work, our neighbor was busy hauling coconuts to the other side of the area. Using a cart pulled by a Buffalo makes it easy to haul. The Buffalo is very important in this type of work or any heavy work.

This is our place where you can see many coconut trees. Because of my Father's diligence, he has already obtained the fruit of victory. A lot of coconuts are sold and around 7,000 pieces of coconuts are sold.

After harvesting, we clean the area and collect the coconut leaves so that the surroundings do not look dirty. We put other coconut leaves on the Coconut Tree to keep the area from drying out due to the heat of the sun. It also serves as organic fertilizer for the plant when it has withered.

We also planted mangoes in the area, and only a few of the mangoes grew and survived due to the heat of the weather. This mango tree has already produced fruit and we harvested it for the first time. I was so happy because of this that we increased the cultivation and reproduction of mangoes even more. The area here is good for planting mangoes and other types of fruit trees.

Making Another Garden Plot:

After I gathered the coconuts I went to my garden to make another garden plot. I made a bigger plot so I could plant more. What I will plant here is Ginger and Pechay. Daily productivity is better and more important to get good results and success.
