What I have noticed is that the majority of dogs are not pure breeds we would recognise and are all what I would call street dogs or mongrels. In most countries you can identify the dogs via breed, but every dog photo I have seen besides the fluffy one last time is a cross mix and would make it harder for foreigners to adopt as we tend to stick to breeds.

this is true. purebreeds in Thailand are still some sort of designer thing with Huskies, Pugs, and of course Corgis being the most popular. I like it when people take care of dogs but I wish people would be more open to adopting a "mongrel" rather than paying big bucks for a pure-breed. The places where these pure-bred dogs are raised are sometimes pretty awful environments too and there are no restrictions or regulations against animal cruelty here in Thailand.
