What you/monks feed the dogs looks similar to what we feed ours as just biscuits doesn't quite do it for them. They will eat it, but you ca see that they are disappointed and it will take much longer to eat without a wagging tail. When the Thai's have heir festivities the strays must increase due to fireworks etc.

The firecrackers in particular are a huge nuisance. For the temple dogs they will normally retreat to the back area far away from all of that. I feel bad for the dogs that live in the more urban areas and cannot escape it. During the various festivals where firecrackers are involved in an all-day sort of basis, there is a noticeable increase in road deaths because the dogs are trying to escape the noise that they don't understand. It's tragic.
