RE: Thais using the police to eliminate tourism competition

This is wrong on all counts mainly as you say due yo jealousy. He s doing his job that none of the Thais can do due to the language barrier. Obviously his kiosk will be more popular as they can talk to him in Russian. The crazy thing is he is promoting Thailand tourism which everyone benefits from as this is extra revenue for the country and it's people.

it's kind of like this trend that we have going on here and probably everywhere else in the world where people will organize or perhaps even pay for a review bomb of a business that is doing really well. This happened to a friend of mine's restaurant and he was able to respond to all the fake reviews and thankfully ended up getting even more customers because of it even though it dropped his overall rating a full 1.5 points. It's terrible that people, instead of actually improving their own tactics will seek to just destroy someone else's business that they spent probably a bunch of time and effort building.

The tour game in Thailand is completely over-saturated. These tour booths are almost everywhere and the only edge that one group can possibly have over another is to have a translator of sorts. This is not an easy skill and it is despicable that the cometitors would resort to this tactic. I really hope it doesn't work and the competing businesses that turned him in get named and shamed.

I suppose all publicity is good publicity and if this guy has any sort of online presence he can post about this and it will drive even more business towards him. I hope he can be the bigger man though and not call them out himself, that would seem petty.
