Welcoming a New Furry Family Member 🍾💖🎉 (A handsome Golden Retriever ♡ Max♡)

Today, I would like to introduce to you our new furry family member named Max. He is a "Golden Retriever".

Yesterday morning, our neighbor who is very close to us came home and asked me if we would like to adopt a dog.

Of course, I really love to have another dog so that Arashi has company. But when she described the dog, I was a bit hesitant even though I truly want to. It was because of their very opposite size and the fact that I know every breed has a different personality, so we need to consider our small breed "Toy Poodle" with a gigantic Golden Retriever". However, on the other side of my mind, there's this thought that we can do it. I mean taking care of both of them despite the differences.

The more I became interested as I saw his photo. There's a bit similarity to our furry who passed away years ago. Their affectionate eyes were similar. So, the more I want to agree adopt him and become a family.

My daughter @tegoshei and my husband happily agreed too. So yesterday evening, our neighbor brought Max to our home and we felt pity for him because he is so skinny and as I touched him, I could only feel the bones and the skin. This is one of the main reasons why the owner set him free and tried to find a foster family who could take care of him.

My neighbor is not also the real owner of Max. It was their taekwondo instructor who knew that our neighbors (a couple) are both dog lovers and are very responsible when it comes to taking care of them. But they have a common problem, they can't afford anymore to raise and take care of another dog, especially with this kind of breed. They all love and adore Max which is why they tried to find him another shelter that can take care of him more than them.

We gave Max a warm and loving welcome last night. I already prepared some food for his dinner. He is used to having table food so I searched for the best food for him. I cooked rice for him and breast chicken with some vegetables. I just boiled them without any seasoning or spices. It melts our hearts to see him eating like he was lack of food and was very hungry for a long time. Poor Max... we instantly love him that much. He is a well-behaved dog, very gentle and sweet who obviously needs attention and care.

As we let him come inside the house, on our small terrace that night, we noticed that he was afraid like he had a trauma of staying inside a cage. Our terrace looks like a big cage for dogs because of the grills. My neighbor told us that Max always stayed inside a cage… maybe that is why he was so scared when he saw the image of the terrace. But later on, he was able to sleep well.

However, we believe that he’ll feel more secure if he stays outside the house. So, we made some rearrangements to make him more comfortable. We transferred our stationery bike to my daughter's bedroom and we will replace a temporary bed for Max outside the house. My husband is starting to make it now as I am writing this.

Even for the short time we spent together with Max, (it's less than 24 hours as of now) he already felt comfortable with us. Early this morning, my husband and my daughter had their Wednesday routine walk, and I let Max accompany them. Unfortunately, they didn't enjoy it that much because it was raining. As they came back home, we let Max rest a bit and then after relaxing, he took a bath. He seems very happy now.

At the moment, our two furry babies are still getting to know each other. We will try our very best to make them closer and feel an attachment as one family. We’re hoping and praying that eventually they can already adjust and adapt to each other and become the best buddies despite their sizes.

So friends, I am asking your good self to please help us welcome our new furry family member Max. I'll just end up here for now and promise to update you on Max's progress.
