Sautéed Pork Belly with Pineapple and Vegetable Salad

in ASEAN HIVE COMMUNITY20 days ago

Good day/evening everyone.

For today's blog, I want to share another recipe I cooked for my family yesterday. It was pork belly marinated with beer because I became curious when I saw it on YouTube. I did not follow the entire recipe because I always love to have my own twist. I also made a vegetable salad as our side dish. So, here's how I did it.

Sautéed Pork Belly with Pineapple and Vegetable Salad

INGREDIENTS:

For the Sautéed Pork:

  • Pork Belly
  • Beer
  • Pineapple Tidbits
  • Baked Beans
  • Cornstarch
  • Crispy Fry
  • Garlic Powder
  • Ground Black Pepper
  • Paprika
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Bell Pepper
  • Soy Sauce
  • Maggi Magic Sarap
  • Salt
  • Canola Oil
  • Water

For the Vegetable Salad:

  • Lettuce
  • Cucumber
  • Carrot
  • Lemon
  • Vinegar
  • Salt
  • Sugar

PREPARATION:

I already had some sliced lettuce so I just got it from the fridge.
Wash and peel the cucumber and slice it into small strips.
Wash and peel the carrot and then cut it thinly into strips.
Wash and slice the lemon. Mix and combine all the veggies.
I mixed the veggies with lemon juice, a little vinegar, a little salt and sugar. Tossed them properly until well combined. Then, I refrigerated it.

For the Sautéed Pork Belly

Wash the pork thoroughly and then cut it thinly.
Marinate the pork with beer. (The enzyme of beer can help tenderize the pork and it also adds a unique flavor)
Add 1 tsp of paprika, 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp of ground black pepper, a pinch of salt, 2 tbsp cornstarch and 1 tbsp crispy fry.
Mix them all together and set aside for at least 30 minutes.
Peel and wash onions and then slice them in a round shape.
Wash and cut the bell pepper.
Crush and peel the garlic and cut them into small pieces. Then set aside.

COOKING TIME:

Heat a small amount of canola oil in a pan. Sear the sliced pork belly until it becomes light brown. Push the pork to the side and then sauté garlic and onions until fragrant.

Add water and pineapple syrup from the pineapple tidbits. Add a little soy sauce and then let it simmer until the pork becomes tender.

When it is already soft or tender enough, add the bell pepper and another portion of ring onion.

Add enough amount of Maggi Magic Sarap to taste.

Then cover the pan and continue cooking until the sauce thickens. Add the pineapple tidbits and baked beans. Stir to combine well. Continue cooking in just 3 minutes.

And all done! It is now ready to serve for our lunch.

Let's eat fellow Hivers. I hope you like these dishes too.
Thank you so much for stopping by and for reading my post. God bless.
