Business is a journey, and it will not be true if you think that the journey of business is a smooth one. I repeat, “Business is never a smooth journey”. If it is, then no one should fail in it. But as long as people starts business and they fail, others don’t even know how to start, while others are in it and somehow they wish they had not embark on the journey at all; it means that, the journey is a complex one. What do I mean by complex? I mean that business strives on diverse rudiments. It doesn’t take on one thing to start a business. You all can agree with me that business start with an idea, conducting research for the idea, planning the business, developing a brand etc. The list continues and that’s what makes business a complex journey or venture.

Los negocios son un viaje y no será cierto si piensas que el viaje de los negocios es suave. Repito, "los negocios nunca son un viaje tranquilo". Si lo fuera, nadie debería fracasar en él. Pero mientras la gente empiece un negocio y fracase, otros ni siquiera sepan cómo empezar mientras otros estén en él y de alguna manera deseen no haberse embarcado en el viaje en absoluto; significa que, el viaje es complejo. ¿Qué quiero decir con complejo? Quiero decir que el negocio se esfuerza en diversos rudimentos. No se necesita una sola cosa para iniciar un negocio. Todos estarán de acuerdo conmigo en que los negocios comienzan con una idea, la investigación de la idea, la planificación del negocio, el desarrollo de una marca, etc. La lista continúa y eso es lo que hace que los negocios sean un viaje o una empresa compleja.

The fact that you still have top most successful business men and women taking courses, attending seminars and so on for the purpose of business sustainability, shows that no one can learn the skill of business enough. Or can you tell me any successful business man or woman who has grown too big in business to learn the ethics of sustaining a business? in fact, those who are doing well, who knows what it means to be successful in business are never tired of learning how to grow and sustain their business.

El hecho de que todavía haya hombres y mujeres de éxito que tomen cursos, asistan a seminarios y demás con el fin de sostener los negocios, demuestra que nadie puede aprender lo suficiente la habilidad de los negocios. ¿O puedes decirme algún hombre o mujer de negocios de éxito que haya crecido demasiado en los negocios como para aprender la ética de sostener un negocio? de hecho, los hombres y mujeres a los que les va bien, que saben lo que significa tener éxito en los negocios, nunca se cansan de aprender cómo crecer y sostener su negocio.

I was talking with a friend of mine who thinks that life is favoring me than him. He told me he needs to start up a business. I said okay that’s fine, what is stopping you? And said, I need capital” I said wow! Just capital? And he taped me from the shoulder, he said, “what do mean by just capital, man, it is everything in a business”. No! No! No! That’s where we had disagreement. The notion that ‘Capital’ is everything it takes to start a business. I can only agree to that, if what business mean to you is to start today and just crash down the next day.

Estaba hablando con un amigo mío que piensa que la vida me favorece a mí más que a él. Me dijo que tenía que emprender un negocio. Le dije que estaba bien, ¿qué te lo impide? Y me dijo: "Necesito capital". ¿Sólo capital? Y me dio un golpecito en el hombro, y me dijo: "¿Qué quieres decir con capital, hombre, lo es todo en un negocio". ¡No! ¡No! ¡No! I asked my friend, “do you have any business idea at all?” he said, “why not, I have one” I said okay, “can you share the idea with me? And he out rightly told NO, that if he tells me the idea, I might steal it from him. He wanted me to help him, that’s why he came to tell me he needs to start up a business. But I discovered something; the truth is that he couldn’t define his “business Idea”. And that’s the problem with many aspiring entrepreneurs. In some cases they cannot really define the idea of the business they claimed they have. And so they push the blame of their inability to the fact that they lack Capital which is not always true.

Let me end this article with an advice to every aspiring entrepreneurs, those who are beginners in entrepreneurship, and those who had spent some time doing business as an entrepreneur. For the aspirants, be ready to define your business idea at all times, you really don’t know where the help you need to kick off is coming from. Also keep in mind that, capital is definitely very important in starting up a business but it is not everything.

And lastly, to everyone doing just fine as an entrepreneur out there, the journey is still long, you cannot learn enough. Make every conscious effort to learn ways of business growth and sustainability as the world is evolving and everything is changing don’t let your business remain static.
