Sin embargo, parece que las cosas están cambiando con bastante rapidez. El mundo es realmente diferente al de hace una o dos décadas.

Hoy en día parece que las personas con habilidades y talentos tienen más éxito que la mayoría de las personas con títulos universitarios y, a veces, incluso con títulos de maestría.

Recientemente me informaron de algunas noticias increíbles sobre empresas que están innovando en sus tácticas de contratación.

Ya sabes, solía haber un entendimiento tácito de que uno tenía que ir a la educación universitaria, obtener el título necesario y luego conseguir un buen trabajo. Pero, ¿sabes qué? Los tiempos han cambiado amigo.

Hoy en día, la mayoría de las grandes corporaciones no se basan en el “título requerido”, sino que se centran en sus capacidades. Por ejemplo, los grandes nombres Bank of America y Dell dicen "sin título, pruébalo". ¿Sabes que? Para mí nuevamente, todo esto me trajo a la mente muchas cosas. Algo como quizás ese viejo consejo de “ve a la escuela, obtén un título y luego consigue un empleo” ya no sea tan valioso.

La educación es importante, pero tal vez haya otra manera de llegar a donde quieres estar.

Las habilidades más relevantes para el mundo actual son probablemente en las que debería centrarse mientras se encuentran oportunidades en el camino para la adquisición de habilidades.

Lo pienso. Significa que si las grandes corporaciones dicen que un título ya no importa tanto, probablemente deberíamos prestar atención.

Puede que sea hora de reconsiderar por completo la noción de éxito y, en cambio, encontrar nuestro propio camino, basándonos en nuestras fortalezas y pasiones, en lugar de limitarnos a tachar cosas de una lista.

Así que esto es lo que estoy pensando: la educación es buena, pero no es la única forma de lograrla.

However it seems things are changing pretty quickly and fast. The world is really different from about a decade or two ago.

Nowadays it seems people with skills and talents are getting more successful than most people with college degrees and sometimes even masters degree.

So, I have recently been informed of some incredible news about companies that are innovating in their hiring tactics.

You know, it used to be this tacit understanding that one had to go for college education, get the necessary degree and then land a good job. But do you know what? Times have changed my friend.

Today, most of the big corporations don’t rely on “degree required” but rather focus on your capabilities. E.g., big names Bank of America and Dell say “no degree, prove it”. But check this out: there are many more such firms – they represent nearly half of the total market. Isn’t that mad?

Well, I wonder why the sudden shift? Actually, all of it is because of one thing: “skills”. Companies need people who can keep up with technology’s fastest pace ever.

Technical skills are the greatest demand and they pay dearly for them too.

They however, do not just want a computer genius; someone who has been out there in the workplace knowing what it is like to get his or her hands soiled and learn the ropes.

You know what? For me again, this whole thing brought to mind a lot of things. Something like maybe that old advice about, ‘go to school, get a degree then secure employment’ is no longer as valuable.

Education is important alright but perhaps there might be another way leading to where you want to be.

The most relevant skills for today’s world are probably what should be focused on while finding opportunities along the way for skill acquisition.

I think about it. It means that if huge corporations are saying that a degree does not matter as much anymore, we should probably pay attention.

It may be time to completely reconsider the notion of success and instead find our own way, based on our strengths and passions rather than just crossing things off a list.

So here’s what I’m thinking: education is nice but not the only way to go about it.

The world is changing so fast these days, so one has to be more adaptable and open-minded in learning.

If you’re considering further study or jumping into work at once, always remember that what will count most are your skills as well as experiences that have molded you along the journey.

Ultimately, it’s not about following the path that has been taken by everyone. The main thing is to carve your own way and attain success on the basis of personal principles.

And if we have to agree with big business establishments, who are we then? Let us welcome change and see what comes out of it.
