It has been a while since I posted on our community been busy lately doing arts and crafts for the Halloween so if you are
looking for a fun and spooky way to decorate your home for Halloween? Look no further than these DIY spooky candle holders! This simple craft project is perfect for all skill levels and can be customized to fit your unique style.

Materials:

  • Empty yogurt drink containers
  • Homemade clay (made with PVA glue, plaster of Paris, and cornstarch)
  • Paint (black, orange, white)
  • Candles

Instructions:

  1. Knead the clay: Begin by kneading the homemade clay to make it pliable and smooth.
  2. Cover the yogurt bottle: Roll the clay into a flat sheet and wrap it around the empty yogurt drink container. Smooth out any wrinkles or bumps.
  3. Cover the rest: Continue covering the rest of the container with clay, ensuring it's evenly applied.
  4. Smooth the surface: Use your hands or a tool to smooth out the surface of the clay-covered container.
  5. Carve the pumpkin head: Use a knife or a sculpting tool to carve a pumpkin face into the clay.
  6. Define lines on pumpkin head: Add lines to the pumpkin head to create a more realistic appearance.
  7. Create mouth and eyes using dotting tool: Use a dotting tool or a toothpick to create the eyes and mouth.
  8. Shape the pumpkin collar: Mold the clay at the bottom of the container to form a pumpkin collar.
  9. Dry the clay: Let the clay dry completely for at least 3 days.
  10. Sand and dust: Once the clay is dry, sand it down to smooth out any rough edges and remove any excess clay. Dust off the candle holder.
  11. Paint the pumpkin: Paint the pumpkin orange and add details like a stem and leaves.
  12. Paint the ghost: If you're creating a ghost candle holder, paint the entire container white.
  13. Paint the cat: For a cat candle holder, paint the body black and add white details for the paws, face, and tail.
  14. Ghost bat neckerchief detail: If you're making a ghost candle holder, add a neckerchief detail by painting a small rectangular shape in black.
  15. Cat button details: For the cat candle holder, add button details for the eyes.
