The coming Christmas season can be a stressful series of activity, but for me, it’s also a time for slowing down and creating something meaningful. This year, I found peace in crafting these beautiful handmade angel decorations using simple, recycled materials. They came out lovely and would make a nice addition to my Christmas decor. They also served as a creative escape from the stress of daily life.

If you’re looking for a way to unwind while making something special, this craft might be perfect for you. Here’s a closer look at how I made my angels, step by step.

Materials I Used
To make these angels, I gathered the following materials, most of which were recycled or easily found at home:

Old cardboard (for the base)
White yarn (for the body and wings)
Beige yarn (for the hair)
Recycled white fabric (for the head)
Fiber fill (for stuffing)
White pipe cleaner (for arms)
Shiny metallic string (for the headband)
A small star decoration
Gold metallic film (for the book)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks
Black marker (for the face)
Blush or makeup (for the cheeks)
Colorful star stickers (for decoration)

How I Made My Angels

Here’s a simple step-by-step guide on how I crafted these adorable angels:

1.) Create the Body:

  • Cut a cone shape from old cardboard.
  • Wrap the cone tightly with white yarn, securing it with hot glue.

2.) Form the Head:

  • Cut a small circle from white fabric.
  • Stitch the edges, pull the thread to form a pouch.
  • Stuff the pouch with fiber fill and stitch it closed.
  • Attach the head to the cone.

3.) Style the Hair:

  • Wrap beige yarn around your fingers to create hair loops.
  • Glue the loops to the head.
  • Gather the hair at the back and tie it into a style.
  • Add bangs for a cute touch.

4.) Make the Wings:

  • Create large yarn loops and tie them in the middle.
  • Glue the wings to the angel’s back.

5.) Add the Arms:

  • Bend a white pipe cleaner into arm shapes.
  • Glue the arms to the angel’s back.
  • Let the angel hold a tiny golden book.

6.) Decorate the Face and Details:

  • Draw simple eyes and a smile with a black marker.
  • Add a touch of blush to the cheeks.
  • Trim the neckline with gold.
  • Decorate the gown with colorful stars.
  • Add a metallic string headband with a star.

Much love,

Ally
