Laste weekend I started studying beatmaking for music production (I know nothing, just started) and made a beat, not to sound good but to show what I have learned.
I am also starting to study about NFTs. I found it disappointing that Hive is a free blockchain, with free transactions, but the two platforms we have for NFTs you have to pay to mint...
So I did some quick research and found OpenSea. I have just learned about it but found it can mint NFTs on Polygon (MATIC) for free, as Polygon has no fees (apparently?!) and is easy to use as it is a fork of Ethereum, but faster and cheaper and works as a sidechain.
So I minted 10 copies of my song as an NFT and you can see it here:

Not for sale (yet and maybe, still learning)
I just wish Hive NFT markets were cheaper, like, cheap to the point I wouldn't think twice before minting and listing there!
I obviously have low expectations, but it is good that I am learning how to mint and sell NFTs. I expect that within a few months or years I become good at producing music and be able to have a hobby that doubles as a side source of income.
Hi, I had a eureka moment yesterday and sent you a message on Discord about it.
Got it! Replied to you there so we can get started
Nice work. I have not explored any of the other chains and I have WAX on my list for later this year. Interesting to know about Polygon.
How about the transaction fees? Are the gas fees insane like ETH? That's one biggest advantage here. People don't have to pay insane gas fees to transfer the NFTs because transactions are free here.
I will write a blog about my experience when I have minted and sold my first batch. The site's documentation mentions that gas fees are only paid when bridging your ETH to Polygon to turn some of it into Polygon ETH, and also when sending your earnings to Ethereum Mainnet to convert it back to regular ETH. You cannot use Polygon ETH outside of its Polygon/MATIC ecosystem as you would with regular ETH.
Okay nice at least better than dealing with ETH completely.
good luck mate. i wish to learn nft too. I am so new in all of this matters
Yep, it's totally free for most ops. I found out about it back in the end of July after hanging out in Twitter and connecting with the right people. Finding out how fast and free it is gave me the impetus to work faster on my collectibles. I am going to mint a first batch of around 8 pieces soon.
Hi @kryptik.tigrrr3d. And now I think how it would be possible to make blog posts on NFT (on OpenSea). It is interesting to work in this direction. For authors who write posts on Hive, LeoFinance or Ecency, this is a limitless opportunity and good money in the future.
Good idea
Great idea and very good creative possibilities!
All EOSIO blockchains (EOS, PROTON, TELOS, WAX) offer free or very low fee minting, best UX and zero trx fee. Check out https://www.protonmarket.com/ or upcoming Voice https://about.voice.com/welcome/
Congratulations and nice work
Congratulations and nice one from you. Am curious why did you stick to ethereum network when creating the NFT
They are probably not on chain, that is why it was free. If I decide to mint and sell then I will probably pay very high fees.
NFTs on Hive in my opinion are not mature and not as cheap as they should be for a “free to use” blockchain
good stuff! (the song). and thank you for the information. i should go try and take a look at that. maybe create my own nft as well. nice content.
Not so great, but the tips I got were to study and study and then try and try and repeat. I have some friends that are real musicians and they said there heard good ideas and loops from this one, but I need to learn how to arrange and transition through so the song "tells a story".
Will improve with practice though, thank you!
I really like your enthusiasm and i also would like to help you with the music if you have any questions, im a music producer and beatmaker for 8 years now. Would be happy to help :)
