Good day everyone! Zak here from Cape Town, South Africa!
A while ago I found caterpillars that looked like little bird poops on my lemon tree. They then grew into the above beauties. They were HUGE! And then they were gone. Perhaps they found a nice place to pupate, perhaps something ate them. I do not know...
Well... let's look at the garden!
Sorry for the below blurry picture but I could not get my camera to focus... but you can see I have a Bell Pepper incoming!
The strange thing about this Pepper plant is that it is quite crowded! it is sitting amongst Basil, Parsley, Purslane and Rosemary and it is out-growing its siblings by a long shot!
The one Basil at the back I left to bolt and will be collecting seeds from it!
In the next bed we have the massive Watermelon plant that started out as just two little leaves and gifted to me by @lex-zaiya. There is also some bell peppers, basil and purslane growing here.
The great (accidental) purslane farm is doing great!
When I made my own chutney I harvested a bunch of Spekboom (Elephant Bush) from the big plant we have outside. Because these plants are a never-say-die type, I decided to plant the cut off stems into some puts and give them water regularly.
The results are already starting to show as leaves are starting to grow from the cuttings. Soon it will grow roots too and they will become their own little plants!
And that is it from my garden for now. I have germinated some more tomato plants and need to plant them out. Once I do, we will see which of them survives!
Thank you for reading!
Cheers!
@zakludick
I like the way you sectioned your plants. Different area for each kind of plant. ☺️
Thank you! I hope to have more sections up soon!
You're welcome. ☺️
I still have cucumbers growing! I couldn't believe how well they were doing this year!
Wonderful! I haven't sown cucumbers this year. There was a lot of DIY going on though!
Remind me tomorrow and I'll give you some of the seeds in the fridge. Planning on serving some of the cucumbers already grown at the braai tomorrow.
Awesome! Thank you!
