They are beautiful, a flower charm.
Hello friends of Hive Blog, a big hug for everyone, today I want to share with you this Flor del Desierto bush. Also known as winter rose or desert flower, its origin is from East Africa and South Arabia, however, here in Venezuela we can find this magnificent beauty that Nature offers us.
The temperature that this flower must keep to maintain its splendor must be above 25ºC temperatures below 15ºC can cause irreversible damage to the plant and it does not support excess humidity.
My mother has taken these photos for me. Being in a work meeting in the Ospino Municipality of the Portuguesa State, this is a warm and cool place, which is why the flower grows so beautiful. My mom tells me that the flowers dressed the place so beautiful and the best natural.
The flowers transmit peace, harmony and tranquility to the spaces where they live, by smell, color, shapes and sizes.
My mother posing with the desert flower at the work meeting.
In that place the flower is perfect because it needs to be in full sun. Despite being suitable to be grown indoors, it is best that it be in an area where it gets a lot of light. In summer it is recommended to place it in full sun, since thanks to this it will grow correctly. In winter, avoid placing it in shady areas.
At my mother's work meeting, her colleagues commented that having a desert flower brings good fortune to its owners, according to old Chinese legends my mother's colleagues said. The strong trunk and the roots represent fertility and abundance, the wider and smoother the trunk, the more abundance the owners of the home will have where the flower is.
What a beautiful gradient of colors.
I was asking my grandmother about how to grow the Desert Flower and she told me that she could do it through the seeds. After listening to what my grandmother told me, I made the following analysis:
To reproduce by this method we must buy (more recommended) first the pods that contain seeds. We must be very careful because when the pods fully mature, they tend to open and disperse the seeds. The opening of the pods is an essential symptom to know the end of this maturation of the seeds and that they are ready to germinate.
Take seeds in a considerable amount from the inside of the pods and place them where we are going to plant that contains their respective garden soil, some small stones and organic fertilizer (worm humus) in small quantities.
Every 3 days we must water so that it is neither too wet nor too dry, when you see the seeds germinate you must avoid watering the plant for a period of 20 days and then water them every 15 days.
Well this is part of how it is cultivated, but there was something that caught my attention and that is that it sometimes takes years to see its flowers and sometimes after 12 months you will already have this flowering shrub and adorning the garden of your house.
How beautiful she is…
The flowers are beautiful, I loved that my mother took these photos for me, it has allowed me to expand and investigate my knowledge, its cultivation requires special care, I hope very soon to be able to grow it in my garden.
