Let's grow seeds extracted from fresh Capsicum πŸ«‘ (bell peppers)

in HiveGarden β€’ 2 days ago

Namaste!

Although it rained a little, late last night but overall, the weather has changed a lot now. It gets quite warm if the sun plays all day long. However, since it is the departing winter sun, I am enjoying it like a sea lion and doing all my work sitting outside in the sun for 2 to 3 hours a day. 🦭

But anyway, this blog is not about me enjoying the sun but about sowing some new seeds in this changing weather. Last year I forgot about bell peppers while growing some other vegetables. Then in the last 2 months, when I needed it in various dishes I saw that yellow and red bell peppers were being sold at high prices like opium, I decided that as soon as the weather became favourable, I will plant my own bell peppers. πŸ«‘ 😀

So this is my potting mix in which this time I have added coco peat, garden soil, cow dung manure and sand along with egg shells and wood ashes.

And these are my small cups which I often use for germinating seeds.

This is another very important step. Whether the pot is small or big, it is very important to have proper drainage. So I have covered the holes of these small cups with broken diyas.

The soil mix has been filled equally in both the cups and now it is time to plant the seeds.

These are both red and yellow bell pepper (Capsicum) seeds which I extracted from the fresh bell peppers I bought recently.
You might wonder why I didn't order seeds with better germination quality online. See, I prefer to grow seeds extracted from vegetables myself as much as possible. And I mostly don't have any problem with their germination or growth because I think it all depends on how you care for them.

I have planted 2 seeds of each bell pepper in a cup and I hope that all four of them will germinate, which we will know in about 2 weeks. I planted the seeds at a depth of half an inch covered them with soil and then sprinkled some water and kept both these cups in a partially shady corner.

I hope you liked my gardening and Phone Photography!😊

Haan Bhai, ye sab lagta hai gardening mein par maza bhi aata hai, mood bhi lite rehta hai, aur positive vibes bhi feel hoti hain to haan thodi mehnat aur time lagta hai par result bahut kamaal ki happy vibes bhi deta hai. :)

Mujhe sab dekhkar hi achcha lag raha hai to main andaza Laga sakta hun ki yah sab karne mein maja to aata hai. Lekin space problem ki vajah se ye sabke liye asan nai hai. Nice work

Have a beautiful dayHello Mr. @untilwelearn good day

Thank you for your wishes dear. A beautiful day to you too!πŸ˜ŠπŸ™πŸΌ

Good luck, it'll be interesting to see how they do !

We're on the other side of the world here, so our seasons are reversed. We've got some seeds from the peppers we grew last year which we should sow in the greenhouse soon.

We've also got two pepper plants which we kept indoors over the winter; supposedly they can go dormant and then come back to life in spring. One of them looks like it might come back, but I'll be surprised if the other one does !

Oh I hope both of them come to life again. We can save the plants from dew by keeping them indoors but sunlight is also a very important thing for plants. Hope the plants will flourish again as soon as the weather changes.
