The sea of beans... With so many beans, I don't need a sea any more./ Das Bohnenmeer…Bei so vielen Bohnen brauche ich kein Meer mehr.

Hello everyone and have a great day. Apart from the fact that a few cellars are under water here and we are constantly helping our neighbours, the field is doing extremely well. It is growing and thriving in all its splendour.
And after all the grumbling and growling in the neighbourhood conversations, I always throw a certain thought into the conversation, namely the following:
According to the Bible, everything should rest in the seventh year.
But is there anything at all at rest on the planet? Couldn't it be that nature is giving itself a break to keep people away from activities in certain weather and to take it easy? I think this is very likely from my own experience.

Hallo zusammen und allen einen tollen Tag. Abgesehen davon, dass hier einige Keller unter Wasser stehen und wir ständige Nachbarschaftshilfe betreiben, geht es dem Acker hervorragend. Er wächst und gedeiht in aller Pracht.
Und nach all dem Murren und Knurren in den Nachbarschaftsgesprächen werfe ich immer einen bestimmten Gedanken ins Gespräch, nämlich den folgenden:
Nach der Bibel soll im siebten Jahr alles ruhen.
Aber ruht denn überhaupt etwas auf der Erde? Könnte es nicht sein, dass die Natur sich selbst eine Pause gönnt, um die Menschen bei bestimmten Wetterlagen von Aktivitäten abzuhalten und sich zu schonen? Aus meiner eigenen Wahrnehmung halte ich das für sehr wahrscheinlich.

Well then, it was just my thought on everything and the field is unstoppable and the rains seem to be clearing the whole field. The perfect weather for the plants to grow. The beans have already grown in such numbers that I picked off a whole bunch and really crawled through the whole field once. The muddy soil also allowed me to remove the weeds without too much effort. And even if I look like a piglet afterwards, it was all worth it:
A good mood, a happy dog, gorgeous vegetables, easier work processes, food on the table, the challenge of the washing machine - a perfect day! 😄 At home, I washed, cut and blanched everything and froze the first batch. I'll preserve the next batch of beans when the dill has grown tall.

Nun denn, es war nur mein Gedanke zu allem und das Feld ist unaufhaltsam und der Regen scheint das ganze Feld zu reinigen. Das perfekte Wetter für die Pflanzen zum Gedeihen. Die Bohnen sind schon so zahlreich gewachsen, dass ich einen ganzen Haufen abgepflückt habe und wirklich einmal durch das ganze Feld gekrochen bin. Der schlammige Boden erlaubte es mir auch, das Unkraut ohne allzu große Mühe zu entfernen. Und auch wenn ich danach wie ein Ferkel aussehe, hat es sich gelohnt:
Gute Laune, ein glücklicher Hund, prächtiges Gemüse, leichtere Arbeitsabläufe, Essen auf dem Tisch, die Herausforderung der Waschmaschine - ein perfekter Tag! 😄 Zu Hause habe ich alles gewaschen, geschnitten, blanchiert und die erste Charge eingefroren. Die nächste Ladung Bohnen werde ich einmachen, wenn der Dill groß geworden ist.

What I'm particularly looking forward to is borage. The plant is also called the Jupiter plant, but the name is not so familiar. It is very insect-friendly and is also a medicinal plant with a blood-purifying effect. In the past, a treatment for heart disease with borage flowers and sugar was called "Manus Christi" (the hands of Christ) before the Federal Health Office banned its therapeutic use. The reason for this was the toxins contained in the plant, which are a mere trifle compared to the glyphosate contamination of our food. But we don't get anything here that is supposed to cure us, or where you can't connect a meter to it. But that's also just my opinion from my learnt awareness and confrontation with reality as I perceive it through life experience. 🌱🌼

Worauf ich mich besonders freue, ist Borretsch. Die Pflanze wird auch Jupiterpflanze genannt, aber der Name ist nicht so geläufig. Sie ist sehr insektenfreundlich und ist auch eine Heilpflanze mit blutreinigender Wirkung. Früher wurde eine Behandlung von Herzkrankheiten mit Borretschblüten und Zucker "Manus Christi" (die Hände Christi) genannt, bevor das Bundesgesundheitsamt die therapeutische Anwendung verbot. Grund dafür waren die in der Pflanze enthaltenen Giftstoffe, die im Vergleich zur Glyphosatbelastung unserer Lebensmittel eine Lappalie sind. Aber wir bekommen hier nichts, was uns heilen soll, oder wo man keinen Zähler dran anschließen kann. Aber das ist auch nur meine Meinung aus meiner erlernten Wahrnehmung und Konfrontation mit der Realität, wie ich sie durch Lebenserfahrung wahrnehme. 🌱🌼

I myself harvest the flowers when I see the plant and eat them without hesitation. Farmers here often plant them at the edge of the field to provide a meadow for insects. I eat them as they are after washing them - the flavour is reminiscent of a cucumber. If you want to know more about this great plant, I advise you to search for it to find the right information in your own language.

Ich selbst ernte die Blüten, wenn ich die Pflanze sehe und esse sie ohne bedenken. Die Bauern pflanzen sie hier öfter mal am Randstreifen des Feldes an, um den Insekten eine Wiese zu bieten. Ich esse sie nach dem Waschen so, wie sie sind – der Geschmack erinnert an eine Gurke. Wenn ihr mehr über diese tolle Pflanze wissen wollt, rate ich euch, danach zu suchen, um auf eurer Sprache die richtigen Informationen zu finden.
