Hello lovelies! Have you all had a lovely summer? It's really blossoming again here - how beautiful! The corn is already being mown and the maize will soon have reached the peak of its growth - it's ready for the biogas plant. Biogas plant? Yes, you read that right! We grow plants here on our land that are then thrown into a biogas plant. I just have to smile at how absurd this world is. Nevertheless, I would like to tell you about some wonderful days without getting upset about how everything here has completely degenerated. Instead, I want to tell you how great it is to tend a garden and how the soil produces everything the earth needs through human intervention and God's work - and these vegetables actually end up on my plate instead of in the biogas plant. 😄

Hallo ihr Lieben! Habt ihr alle einen schönen Sommer verbracht? Hier blüht er gerade nochmal richtig auf- wie schön!. Das Korn wird schon gemäht, und der Mais hat bald den höchsten Stand seines Wachstums erreicht – er ist bereit für die Biogasanlage. Biogasanlage? Ja, ihr habt richtig gelesen! Wir bauen hier auf unserem Boden Pflanzen an, die dann in eine Biogasanlage geworfen werden. Ich muss gerade schmunzeln, wie absurd diese Welt ist. Dennoch möchte ich von wunderschönen Tagen berichten, ohne mich darüber aufzuregen, was hier alles völlig degeneriert ist. Stattdessen möchte ich erzählen, wie toll es ist, einen Garten zu pflegen, und wie der Boden durch menschliches Zutun und Gottes Wirken alles hervorbringt, was die Erde braucht – und dieses Gemüse landet tatsächlich auf meinem Teller, anstatt in der Biogasanlage. 😄

The vegetables have grown magnificently and I am very grateful for that. Now it's time to process them step by step. As I've already finished the beans, I'm now turning my attention to the beetroot. Fresh salads and a few cucumbers - unfortunately they were attacked by a fungus after they had borne such wonderful fruit and kohlrabi is always a good side dish for processing and for snacking in between.

Das Gemüse ist prächtig gewachsen, und ich bin sehr dankbar dafür. Jetzt geht es Schritt für Schritt in die Verarbeitung. Da ich die Bohnen bereits alle fertig habe, widme ich mich nun der roten Bete. Frische Salate und ein paar Gurken – leider wurden sie von einem Pilz befallen, nachdem sie so wunderbar Früchte getragen hatten und Kohlrabi ist immer eine gute Beilage für die Verarbeitung und zum Naschen zwischendurch.

I particularly like eating kohlrabi uncooked. There was a lot to do and nothing was to be wasted. The highlight of the week was the endive salad, which looked like a poem. It's usually served with mashed potatoes and bacon, but as I didn't have either at home, I prepared it differently. You can find out more about this in another of my posts. By the way, I'll also tell you what I did with the beetroot. But first, I'll show you how big the pumpkins I'm taking part in the @hive-world-champ challenge have already grown. 😊

Besonders ungekocht esse ich Kohlrabi sehr gerne. Es gab viel zu tun und nichts sollte verschwendet werden. Der Höhepunkt der Woche war der Endiviensalat, der wie ein Gedicht aussah. Normalerweise wird er mit Kartoffelpüree und Speck serviert, aber da ich beides nicht zu Hause hatte, habe ich ihn anders zubereitet. Mehr dazu erfahrt ihr in einem weiteren Beitrag von mir. Übrigens, ich verrate euch auch, was ich mit der roten Beete gemacht habe. Aber zuerst zeige ich, wie groß die Kürbisse bereits gewachsen sind, mit denen ich an der Challenge bei der @hive-world-champ“ teilnehme. 😊

The results so far are really impressive. But I don't want to withhold the highlight of the wild growth from you: the sunflower in the potato field. It is the star of this post and is simply beautiful to look at. It seems to be doing very well in the potato field and I'm really happy about it.
And now I'm getting ready to pull the rest of the carrots out of the field, which will also be processed. I've also laid out a bunch of onions to dry and will soon start green manuring.

Das bisherige Ergebnis kann sich wirklich sehen lassen. Doch das Highlight der Wildwüchse möchte ich euch nicht vorenthalten: die Sonnenblume auf dem Kartoffelacker. Sie ist der Star dieses Beitrags und einfach wunderschön anzusehen. Es scheint ihr auf dem Kartoffelacker sehr gut zu gehen, und ich freue mich riesig über sie.
Und nun mache ich mich daran, die restlichen Möhren aus dem Acker zu ziehen, die ebenfalls verarbeitet werden sollen. Außerdem habe ich bereits einen Schwung Zwiebeln zum Trocknen ausgelegt und werde bald mit der Gründüngung beginnen.
