Wazzup hivers! I’m here again for another chika of mine; are you excited? For this blog, I will show you how beautiful and wonderful to plant because you will surely have something to harvest as the day goes by. So come and join me as I show you, or rather, the world, the importance of planting. So, shall we start?
It was 6 in the morning, and the weather was not that good. My mom asked my brother to harvest the dragon fruits because they were ready to harvest. My brother was hesitant that time because he’s playing his favorite mobile game, which was Mobile Legends. Have you played this game before? Or are you an avid gamer of Mobile Legends?. I was also playing this game before, but I stopped when I realized that I needed to prioritize my studies, especially since I’m already a third-year college student now. I can’t prioritize my studies while playing online games. I don’t know, but my brother was really a fan of this game; his day is sad if he won’t open his mobile Legend app nor play it. But he doesn’t have any chance to say no to my mother’s command because she’s the boss in our family.
He assured my mother that he would harvest the dragon fruits after his game. Since my mom was already aware that the game couldn't be paused, she then just agreed. After minutes of playing, my brother then turned his phone off and then went to our backyard to start harvesting our dragon fruits.
The dragon fruit plant was very Thorny; that's why you need to be careful while gathering its fruit. Since our dragon fruit plant was on the avocado, my brother needed to climb up to the avocado tree to grab the dragon fruits; it was very risky. That's why my mother was watching his every move. I’m sorry guys, I didn't get the chance to take a photo of my brother harvesting our dragon fruits since I’m also busy washing the dishes that time. Actually, when I went to them, my brother was done harvesting the fruits.
Probably you’re wondering about how I knew the position of my mother and brother; well, I can see them from the window of our nipa hut. Yup, I was in the kitchen, but I can really see the both of them in the window.
As I open the Eco bag, beautiful dragon fruits catch my eye. A smile plastered on my lips when I saw their lovely colors. What a unique fruit! There are lots of nutrients that we can get from these fruits, and it was very organic since we don’t put anything on our dragon fruit plant.
As I was counting the fruits that my brother harvested, there were two tiny dragon fruits; it was so cute, “very cutesy, very demure."
We harvested 10 pieces of dragon fruit. I thank God for this wonderful harvest. I was weighting it one by one using my hands; of course it doesn't have the same weight because it does not have the same size.
My mom gets a knife to slice one dragon fruit. She then told me to just eat 1 slice because the fruit was carrying plenty of vitamins. I nod in reply, so I take 1 slice of it and then have a bite on it. I don't really understand its taste, but its seed was so satisfying.
I think I'm starting to like this fruit. Aside from the fact that we can gain a lot of benefits from this fruit, it was also so exotic that its market price was pricey. That's the reason why we should practice planting fruits and vegetables in our garden or even some open space so that you can eat organic foods and also save your money in buying that kind of vegetable or fruit.
You are at the end of my blog. Thank you for reading it, and I hope that you can learn something from this chika of mine. That's all for my blog, Swtzyserrah again, your proud provincial girl.
