Fungus gnats in my okra field

in HiveGarden2 years ago

Hello hiveian's,
I hope you all are doing good by the grace of almighty God! I am a son of a farmer and currently studying is.c agriculture. I feel so curious to know about different technologies, insect pest, market values, vegetables, fruits, flowers etc. I mean to say related to a agriculture!

I have sown okra in my small field.. As from a several days.. I'm seeing mass number of insect namely (fungus gnats). Basically they are neutral in nature, it doesn't harm nor human nor plant.. Although if there is mass number of fungus gnats then it can damage root of a baby plant and may cause wiltings..and death of a plant.

If you see these type of insect affecting in your field then don't use chemical pesticide. Always give higher priority to non-chemically made pesticides or different techniques! If you use yellow sticky trap then it will be best!

The working principle of yellow sticky trap are: yellow sticky trap is a yellow coloured paper with a sticky substance in one surface! These insect are yellow colour lover so they get attracted to it and while seating on it they will get attached and be killed!

  • Thankyou so much for giving your valuable time to read my article!!! Have a great day!

Although it sounds a bit cruel, glue for flies or other insects is often the way to get rid of a pest that is damaging a crop or seeds.
