February
Starting off with a 'clean slate' - the garden was still resting and we would just pour some ashes occasionally as we were burning wood and it's good for the soil.
March
In March we started preparing garden for the first round of planting. This always makes me so excited!! Even though weather in March can still be cold and temperatures can drop especially during night time, it's kind of tricky and a little bit risky but we were lucky because everything we planted survived and weather was bearable for the plants.
April
This year we did the 'planting under water galloons' trick that really helps as it protects veggies from wind and cold but since there are holes at the top,, it allows them to breathe and it's also easy to water or allow rain to get inside. We use this method for tomatoes and peppers.
May
Here you can see the difference especially in potatoes. I love capturing progress of the growth and look back at it like I am doing now.
June and August
It's kind of funny how both of these photos have pretty much the same background - blue skies and fluffy clouds. Should we play spot the difference? :D I think tomatoes on the right side of the garden really make the biggest difference on these two photos!
September
September was quite steady month when it comes to garden changes, at least when it comes to these overviews. In my head, when Septembers comes, it means summer is over - I've always felt this way, maybe because for us here in Serbia schools starts at the very beginning of September and it would always mean long summer break is over, so maybe that stuck with me... Anyways, weather in September still gets nice and sunny for the most part.
October and November
Now, these two months is where we really feel summer is over! It still gets sunny a lot of days of October and November, but the temperature is lower and it gets quite chilly, especially in the evening/night. Sometimes rain comes for few days but you can tell from these photos that it's getting less green and even though we still have some things growing in the garden, the main gardening season is definitely over. Soon we will clear out more space and prepare the soil for the well deserved winter rest.
Looking forward for next year @nikolina
Thank you, me too! :)
