Mulberry: A multipurpose medicinal tree, favourite of silkworms

in HiveGarden4 days ago

Hello friends, 🙏

Last week I went to Kolhapur to visit my Kuldevta. There we have to stay at our priest's house near the temple. The priest of our Kuldevta makes arrangements for our stay and food; he has made complete arrangements for the stay of his devotees there. He takes us to the temple and gets us to do the puja, etc. And in return we give him some money.

No matter how much you give, he does not ask for it; he will take whatever you give. Friends, we were staying there for a day, and I saw a tree at the gate of his house; it looked familiar to me. On going closer I came to know, oh, this is a mulberry tree. We call it Tuti here. It is called "mulberry" in English. It bears a type of berry-like fruit. These are very good, sweet, and slightly spicy. We have eaten it a lot in childhood. By the way, it is a very medicinal plant. Silk is made by silkworms eating the leaves of this tree. The cloth made from this tree is very soft and beautiful. It is very expensive.

Many uses of this tree are mentioned in Ayurveda. In childhood, we used to eat its fruits with great relish. Even today, I plucked some of its fruits and chewed them. Memories of childhood were refreshed. You can see how beautiful it is. Do comment on how you liked this tree. Thank you.🙏
