It's already August, it seems like the end of the year is starting to creep up quickly and will leave 2024 behind. Just like everything in my garden, they are also growing fast, or maybe I'm the one who's stuck in slowing down time? I don't know why, but, I really want to always be with you and write with joy, especially about the many things that happen in my little garden.
At the beginning of August I was surprised by some of my vegetables which I started planting at the end of last July. Of course, I experimented a lot after 7 years of starting in the field of hydroponics. I live from here, hydroponics makes my life better. Previously I focused on coffee beans, now I really live with agriculture and hydroponics.
There was significant demand from someone who said he would need lettuce in late August. I started sprouting lettuce seeds very carefully at the end of July, because lettuce needs 35-40 days to grow and has a weight that is profitable to sell. Lettuce has enough weight when harvested on the 35th day, you will get maximum weight without making the taste and quality of the lettuce bad.
This time, I deliberately planted them a little far apart, because I wanted to get 80-100 grams per net pot. At least in one hydroponic box I can get 1 kg of lettuce with a beautiful shape. Uniquely, this time the lettuce grows very well and tends to develop quickly.
Not only lettuce this time, there is also pak choy for our consumption this month. I miss the pak choy which has not been planted for a long time, because for one thing, attacks from mice who like to eat pak choy. Why do they like pakchoi so much more than lettuce? Even though it's clear that lettuce tastes much plainer than bok choy which is a little bitter, maybe that's the taste of the mice here.
I haven't eaten pak choy for a long time, because the pak choy sold in traditional markets is of slightly poor quality. One thing is because it uses pesticides and there are also lots of caterpillar holes in some of the leaves, it's even very bad if you imagine there are caterpillars walking on pak choy leaves in the growing process. So, it's been a few months since we really enjoyed pakchoy of really good quality. Indeed, growing pak choy is the perfect healing because it can be eaten alone and it is very nutritious.
Besides all the plants that have been planted, there is one corner that I renovated because yesterday when it rained, my hydroponic rack swayed and was slightly damaged by the strong wind. I made a new shelf and chose some iron that could still be used and then put it together with some new iron.
It seems that this shelf is still a work in progress, because I just renovated it and did it myself. I also want to maximize the space for my hydroponics, but unfortunately I don't have a large area of land. Hopefully this will be finished quickly so that several hydroponic boxes can be arranged neatly.

I love growing lettuce and Pak choi in hydroponics. When the days start to cool down I will start another round for the fall season in the greenhouse. Right now it is way too hot to grow. Your plants look fabulous and I'm sure your customers love them. Well done!
