Hello garden lovers.
Well I don't have a garden but I do have plants in my apartment. And now I have two more.
I was walking the dog and when I passed the garbage bin, I saw these two plants standing. Not your average outside plants, and it was also freezing, so I tough lets have a look what they are doing there.
There was a little note in one of the plants and it read the following:
Watch out, there is wolluis (Googels translate it to mealybug) in the plants. You could get it away with some effort but be patient. Probably the previous owners didn't have that much patients.
So I thought those are to beautiful not to take with me. But I do not want to get my other plants to be infected. So they were going inside and I will get them in the shower first to see if I can get the mealybug away.
I took a good look at the plant and found the mealybug. But I actually thought it was not that bad.
There also were these kind of boxes hanging in the pant. They are biological pest control. Bugs that kill other bugs. But I didn't see any other bug then the mealybugs.
I decided to treat them according to my own method. I dealt with these bastards before. First I showered them very good. And I made a mixture of green soap, methylated spirits and water and put it in my plant sprayer. For a couple of day's I treated the leaves with the mixture and that went very well.
I have them standing in my bedroom for a while. this because that one plant is super big and I just don't have enough space in my living room, and They are still there because of the quarantine. I want tobe sure to have them bug free now.
Did you ever find plants at the garbage? I am curious which plants did you saved from the garbage! I would like to thank the neighbor who threw them away.

Haha, thank you. And I found this hous where I live now too. It's right next to the forest 🥰
Great find… even though you had to treat them. I would have taken them too.
A shame people throw them out.
It's indeed sad that they don't take better care of their stuf
That’s people…
Enjoy your Wednesday.
Thank you 🙏
You are welcome.
what? plants in the garbage? never happened to me and they were in good conditions! the bigger one is also very nice
Jaaa that one is so cool. I really love that plant.
It's crazy isn't it what some people throw away. I have found Aloe Vera plants at the bins and have always taken them, I have about 9 now. I can't leave them there xx
Those plants are cool to. And you can use them perfectly for all kinds of stuff
Exactly, for medicine, for burns, for moisturiser, skin and hair care. Such a wonderful versatile plant xx
What a peculiar way to find a plant and more with a note haha you can see that patience did not have their previous owners, poor things, thank goodness you found them and I hope they can grow favorably 🙏 They are beautiful, a pity to let them invaded by mealybugs, they were waiting for someone to find them and have patience, they are alive after all.
My grandfather found a palm tree uprooted and now it is in front of my house many years ago haha 😂
Some people don't deserve plants. A palm tree. That is also a very cool find.
the plant is very beautiful, maybe the previous owner was not able to take care of it anymore and could not get rid of the white lice, you are very good at taking care of the plant and can get very good results with a mixture of
I admire you because you love plants so much and you put them in your room, I have never tried it,
greetings🙏
There are no other plants in my bedroom, so if there are still bugs on them, they can't infect others 💪
Wow interesting to find plants at the garbage! Nice share!
Very interesting. Now I look to all garbage dump locations. Maybe more people do it 😅
Wow! You’re lucky! It’s actually easy to get rid of pests or insects on plants using natural methods. Maybe the person who threw that plant away didn’t really know how to take care of it properly. =)
That could be indeed. Well, I thought I managed to get rid of it
My brother once found a huge bonsai in the trash. Not a fancy species, but probably 50 years old. Unfortunately it didn't make it another 50 years...
Wow that's so cool. To bad it didn't ife longer
You are a curious plant savior, hahaha
Haha 😅 I am a plantdaddy
