Week 3 Garden Weekly Theme: WEEDS

in HiveGardenlast month

Last week's challenge was 'I have far too many' - a great theme for those who are pulling alot of yummy food out of your gardens!

We change the theme this week and hope you have time to write. It's always important to contribute to communities so they stay active and alive, and help build the HIVE ecosystem as a whole!

This Week's Theme: WEEDS

Love 'em or hate 'em, they're very much part of our lives. Arguably, a weed is just an unwanted plant, but there's another way of looking at this - perhaps a weed is telling you something, such as the soil needs particular nutrients. Perhaps the weed is more useful than you thought. And of course, we also have edible weeds, like dandelion, and weeds we forage for medicine.

Here's some ideas for a post - you don't have to choose one or the other, but simply see these as fertiliser for your thoughts.

  • You have a weed in your garden you were going to remove, but did some research and learnt a lot about how useful it is. What did you learn?
  • You love a particular weed everyone else tries to get rid of. Why?
  • You use a natural weed killer to remove weeds. What is it - shop bought or homemade? How effective is it?
  • Eat the weeds! Detail how you prepare a weed for the table.
  • Weed Medicine - how do you use a plant everyone thinks is useless and make it useful for your health or for first aid?

We love and appreciate your efforts in making the Hive Garden a beautiful community! Thanks for your engagement with others, your wonderful tips, advice and inspiration!

They'll be coming out every SATURDAY and you have the entire week to write. If you miss the deadline, don't worry - you can post whenever you like on the theme. This is simply about providing you with fertiliser for your thoughts.

Last week's theme was 'I HAVE FAR TOO MANY' and the week before was 'TASTY HARVESTS'.

Some guidelines

  • Please no AI - let's stick to real gardens for this challenge.
  • Posts should be a minimum of 300 words to be considered for attention
  • Don't overload on images, especially if very similar. Think less is more.
  • No plagiarism
