Sometimes being a Hive Garden curator is exhuasting - like a hard day shovelling compost! However, it's super rewarding and in my opinion, the best curation job on Hive.
I'm presenting posts a little differently this time, focussing on my five to eight of my absolute favourites instead of summarising all the posts! Don't worry, I'll still include a link to everyone's awesome content just in case you missed them. I'll also be trying to share the best of the best on #leothreads, depending on time.
Two stories of resilience this week - one with @buckaroobaby recovering from an injury, where she learns to put her foot up and relax a little, and one with @nikolina's garden recovvering from a storm. A great reminder of how good things usually follow the bad.
I had no choice but to sit with my throbbing foot up and learn to slow down. This week I ventured into our overgrown winter garden. On crutches. We harvested bundles and bundles of glorious stinging nettle which is drying. We picked fruit blossoms and herbal flowers to press. We made citrus marmalade. We pulled up our first crop of ginger. I have learned many lessons while being given a forced leave of absence. Mostly I am grateful for my family's support and endless trips to fetch me tea or report each garden and every animal. There is so much to be grateful. Sometimes we need to slam on breaks and just relax in the season. Whatever it is.
Also really appreciated a more meditative approach to gardening and some attention to lunar calenders and a novel approach to weeding from @libra.gardener who wrote:
If you allow it to be, weeding is a great form of meditation. Pulling up weeds can be a form of sympathetic magic. Some plants stay, those symbolize the positive things in my life that I love and hope to cultivate. Others, such as negative thought patterns, are discarded and go into the compost heap.
And of course, from these discarded thoughts, we have the rich dark goodness of compost.
@hindavi, like most of Europe, has been experiencing quite unsettled weather. At least her calendula patch in Norway provides food for bees!
How beautiful is this Tradescantia flower - and can't you just imagine being on @owasco's front porch? Even if she is ranting about japanese beetles - rightly so.
Seems it's either been pouring rain or unreasonably hot. Have to admire those amongst us trying to keep crops alive, like @marcus2201
The Wrap Up
Did you catch all of these? If you haven't had time to drop a comment, here's your change - choose a couple and go and give them some love.

FOOD GROWER (EX VEGETABLE): @marcus2201
PHOTO PRIZE: @libragardener
It's always hard to choose a winning photo, but this week it's definitely this one by @libra.gardener. It's so evocative - I can smell the lavender and the musky smell of the horse, and to get a butterfly and a horse focussed in the photo strikes me as a hard task!
Happy Gardening!
