Fruit and nut trees are such an important piece of the food security puzzle. You can find food producing trees for almost any location. Here on the southern slopes of Mauna Loa on the Big Island coffee and macadamia nuts grow really well. This Mac nut tree is on my lower elevation property. I plan to plant 40 to 50 mango trees, and a whole bunch of citrus varieties on this warmer property.
Up on my mountain property at around 5000ft elevation it’s much cooler, not really tropical at all. Here I have peaches, pears and apple trees. I’m planning to get some plum trees soon too. I brought four types of blueberries and four different varieties of raspberries from Oregon. I’m currently seeing which ones do best at this location.
Now more than ever we should all be thinking about where our food is coming from. Not just because of the toxic crap found in so much of the food supply, but now, because you may not even be able to get any healthy food at the super market due to worsening supply chain issues.
No matter how small, everyone should grow something. It’s such an ancient and natural act. It’s creating, it’s nurturing, it’s reassuring. We all need to feel these feelings right now. We can create the world we want, we can care for it and keep it thriving. We will be kind, we will be humble, we will be happy.
Remember to #growyourown if you can,
If not, #knowyourfarmer, and always

Great post @choosefreedom!
The Macadamia nut photos are amazing! You have such a natural artistic eye for photography and those little collages and gif graphics add a special appeal that works so well with nature photos.
I could get deep on this nature topic. I know some people personally who are so damaged from this system that they think nature is evil. I'm not even kidding.. and we (collectively) have been disconnected from nature much more than the majority of people realize I think, at least in western civilization.
The plans for planting your trees sounds great! You have an amazing vision for the future, and yes.. "We can create the world we want" indeed :)
Thanks for the great post and beautiful message my friend 😎✌️
Keep up the excellent work.

Oh wow Macadamia nuts, they are some of my favourite, but so expensive over here. I agree, we really need to be growing our own, time to take responsibility for our food and health xxx
They are quite a treat 😊 and expensive here too! #growyourown
