Hello everyone, welcome back to Bundaahnaf's Blog. I hope everyone is stay safe and healty as well as their garden and plants. Today i would like to share about the worms that attacks our garden.
So me and my husband have been a caladium planter since we moved to our current rented house, it's been around 2 years now. Those caladiums are gift from my mother, as she wished we could breed it and get profit from it.
Here is a picture of our caladiums few months ago after we rearranged it, featuring my son watering it.
On our first 2 years of planting caladiums, the most problem for me is the sunlight and the worms. Exposed for too long on direct sunlight will cause the leaf burnt and dead, while the worms causes the leaf were eaten by them, some even ended up with no leaf in the end.
For the sunlight problem, we solved it by let some trees grown up and put the caladiums near those trees, for the worms, it keeps coming back frequently. I think 3 or 4 times a year those worms are coming to our caladiums. The last time they come is few weeks ago.
Here is the picture of our gingerland caladium that got eaten by the worms.
After we seek the troublemaker, we found there is a small green worms on it. Here is the picture of that worm
We also found our Red Baret Caladium's Leaf are got eaten by the worms. And we found that there is the same green worms as on our gingerlands on it.
My husband decide to manually get rid the worms, and this time he done it as soon as we saw they leaf are eaten by worms. We found the worms still young and small, and there is just those 2 worms. As soon as we get rid of it, we found that there is no more caladiums are eaten by worms. I think this time we doing it right, because we often don't react quickly which cause the worms getting bigger till the size of adult finger, and the worms are multiplied, we could find more than 6 worms with different colours, green and black are the most.
Does anybody here have been facing same problem? And how do you solved the problem? Please let me know if there is other solution, just leave it on comment. Thank you for read my post till the end, hope you guys enjoy it and have a nice weekend ! 😊

He is adorable, when the time comes he will be the one taking care of the plants.
thank you, i hope so :)
You're welcome (^_^)
It's really sad to see that our beloved plants suffers from this kind of situation. I was too suffering from the same problem but instead of killing those tiny destroyer we just exchanged our little beloved saplings with some weeds.
Like this, we saved our plants and on the other hand they did not have to suffer from starvation.
I hope they will stop destroying your plants soon.
Didn't they go back to your plant?
Or it's located far from your garden?
They did not go back fully as it is totally impossible for me to move my whole garden to another place but their destructive activities reduced partially.
Good post and I think you can do some deference ..
thanks, would you mind explain more about that deference? cause i dont get it, sorry
