RE: Ginger and Turmeric Harvest and Replanting

in HiveGardenlast year

ginger is awesome to grow, I find i get a big harvest of ginger for little effort. you DO need to plant lots of little pieces with "eyes" on them though. I got 5 kg out of two garden pots last year
but i am australia.

5 kg from two garden pots is awesome. Thank you for mentioning the "eyes" I will keep it in mind when I am going to plant some ginger these coming weeks.

the super basics of it... chop up a big piece of ginger into small pieces sort of 2-4cm ish, just make sure each piece has an "eye" or two. a nobly bit that something could grow from. some recomend soaking them in water for a couple of hours. then plant eyes up about 5-7cm under a good free draining soil... water in and leave. they are pretty easy... i did a post about it a while back. good luck.

Thank you for the tips, it will definitely going to help me in planting my gingers.
