My two square meter garden log - 17 Sep 2023 / 2㎡の庭の記録 2023年9月17日

I woke up 5:30 and it was too dark to start shooting photos and maintaining plants in my micro balcony. We are stepping into autumn. I waited the sunrise by doing yoga and preparing my coffee. After the sunrise, I went out to the balcony with a cup of coffee as always.

Leafy greens I started in trays and transplanted to final positions last week are doing good.

Winter purslane and Asian salad mix which I sow seeds sprout. The purple mustered is my favorite. It has a kind of seaweed flavor.

Some strawberry baby plants grow roots quite quickly. For those who grow roots well, I cut cords from their mama plants.

I estimate I can bring them to the community garden in the end of the month. I look forward to see many many strawberries and people enjoy snacking them next spring.

After I moved the strawberry pots, I made new pots of strawberry baby plants. In my small balcony, I cannot do everything at the same time 😅 After this batch, I think I'm done with the strawberry for this year.

It was the first big strawberry year in my life. I'm happy with the result that they give us fresh fruits even in the end of summer.

If you plant strawberries, I recommend you to plant both spring and summer variety so that you can enjoy them for long.

I'm quite done for this season. The last big task of the year is to plant bulbs for next spring in layers and sow corn salad on top. I read somewhere it's called "plant lasagna" 😁

秋ですね。5時半におきましたが、バルコニーで写真をとったり植物の世話をするにはまだ暗く、ヨガをしたり、コーヒーを入れたりしながら日の出を待ちました。

秋冬用の葉物は無事根づいて、種をまいたものも芽を出し始めました。秋冬はサラダをもりもり食べるわけではないので、少量大事に育てれば事足りるでしょう。

秋冬は植物の成長が遅くなるのですが、先週鉢に固定したいちごの赤ちゃんたちの根っこの成長がすごい w もう鉢の下からにょっきり根が出ているものもあり、お母さんたちから切り離していきました。

月末までうちで育てて、コミュニティガーデンのいちごが手薄なところに植えようと思います。今年たくさん育ててみてわかったのですが、いちごの繁殖力は強くて、もはや雑草 www でもおいしい実のなる良い雑草なのでどんどん増やします 🍓

春に実がなるものと夏に実がなるものを両方植えたので、いまだに収穫を楽しんでします。毎日1つ2つとれて、子供のお弁当に入れたり、私がバルコニーで食べたり。

今年のいちごのように、何かを集中して育ててみて、理解を深めるのっていいですね。来年は何を育てようかな。
