Micro Balcony Garden Journal 2024 - Jun 9 / マイクロバルコニーの記録

I've been in the food business this week and had two evening events, so I've been a bit lazy on Hive Blog. Today I'm glad that I could wake up early and spend a quiet early morning on my balcony. It is a small balcony of around 2 square meters, but it is an essential space for my life.

We have not had a very hot day yet, and the bitter melons are growing slowly. The true leaves are starting to come out from all the plants, and some of them have curly whiskers, so it won't be long before they climb up the strings I put up the other day. I am looking forward to it.

Speaking of summer vegetables, a tomato plant has buds. Usually, the micro-tomatoes or the smaller, medium-sized tomatoes start to flower first, but this year, the large tomatoes are the first to flower. When I picked the side shoots, I could notice the strong smell of tomatoes already from the leaves. Yes, it's summer!

The fava beans that I planted seeds in February are about to be harvested. The pods are pointing down and I am tempted to harvest them, but I will wait until they are a little bigger.

Actually, the other day I harvested the earliest and biggest one and found it was still too early. Waiting is also part of gardening 😉

One of the local plants I posted the other day, Margaret, is blooming. There will bea lot of yellow flowers in the coming months, such as tomatoes, but the pretty white flowers are nice too.

While I was taking a break on the balcony, my daughter woke up and we drove to a bakery in the city also for my driving practice. Now I can drive more smoothly and carry more plants 😁

今週は食ビジネスの方で、夜のイベントが2件あったのでHive Blogはさぼり気味でした。今日は早起きをして、久しぶりに静かな早朝、ゆっくりバルコニーで過ごせました。2平方メートルちょっとの小さなバルコニーですが、生活になくてはならない大事な空間です。

まだカンカンに暑い日はなく、ゴーヤの成長はゆっくりです。どの株からも本葉が出始めて、中には巻きひげが出ているものもあって、先日張った紐を登っていく日も遠くないでしょう。楽しみです。

夏野菜といえば、トマトが花をつけ始めていました。例年、マイクロトマトか中玉の小さめのトマトから先に花をつけ始めるのですが、今年は大玉のトマトが1番のりです。メインの茎を伸ばすべく、脇芽を摘んだら、葉っぱからはトマトの力強い匂いがしました。夏ですね！

2月に種を植えて育て始めた空豆が収穫間近です。鞘が下を向いているので収穫したい気持ちがはやりますが、あと少し大きくなるまで待ちます。

実は先日、一番大きなものを収穫してみたら、まだ早かったのでした。待つのもガーデニング。

そうそう、先日投稿した地域の植物の一つ、マーガレットが咲きました。トマトなど、これから黄色い花が多くなりますが、可憐な白い花もいいですね。

バルコニーで一息ついていると、子供が起きて、運転の練習がてら市内のパン屋さんにパンを食べに行ったのでした。たまにはこんな週末の朝ご飯もいいですね。車を運転できるようになって、これでガーデニング関連の買い物も楽になります。爆買いしないように気をつけないと 😁
