Aki Mart: The Hidden Gem for Korean Snacks in Danao City

If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like to munch on delicious and savory snacks at a Korean mart, I’m super excited to take you along on my journey of discovering a local Korean mart here in Danao City! From sweet treats to spicy snacks, I can’t wait to share this amazing spot with you. Aki Mart is the 2nd Korean snack shop I’ve visited, and I’m hooked on everything they sell – from ramens and ice creams to awesome ready-to-eat meals!

You can find this hidden gem at Amalia Commercial Complex, Mabini St. Cor Duterte St. (right across from Sampan Pawnshop) in Poblacion, Danao City, Cebu. Let’s go check it out together!

Aki Mart is a fantastic Korean mart that offers a variety of sections, including snacks, frozen foods, beverages, and more! Whether you're craving a quick bite or stocking up on your favorite Korean ingredients, they've got something for every food lover. Aki Mart is very affordable, unlike other Korean marts, so it's student-friendly and budget-friendly. They’re open every Monday to Thursday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and from Friday to Sunday, they stay open even later, until midnight! It’s the perfect spot for anyone who’s crazy about Korean food – you can always find something delicious to try or enjoy at Aki Mart!

The place has a minimalist design with a strong Korean vibe. However, it can get a bit crowded, especially in the afternoons when lots of students come by to grab snacks after class.

So, I decided to try the Buldak Carbonara, and I couldn’t resist picking up some fishcake to add more flavor to it! When I got to the cooking station at Aki Mart, they had easy-to-follow instructions on how to cook everything, so I didn’t need to guess.

So, I boiled the noodles and followed the instructions, but instead of draining all the water, I left about 8-10 spoons of it. Then, I mixed in the flavoring powder and sauce – and wow, the sauce was so creamy and spicy, exactly how I wanted it! To make it even better, I added some fishcake, which made the dish extra savory.

I didn’t forget the seasoned seaweed, of course! I placed a piece of seaweed on the side, added the Buldak and fishcake in the middle, and rolled it up for a super easy bite. Let me tell you, the combo of noodles, fishcake, and seasoned seaweed was seriously delicious! The flavors just worked together so well, and I was loving every bite.

Now, I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest fan of spicy food, so the Buldak was a bit of a challenge for me. It was too spicy, but thankfully Aki Mart provides free water, and they have tons of drink options to help cool things down. If you love Korean food, though, you’ve got to try this combo – it’s totally worth it!

After enjoying my meal at Aki Mart, I was totally amazed by the beautiful sunset right in front of their store. It was the perfect way to end my visit – the colors in the sky made everything even more special. Definitely a nice little moment before heading out!
