Eating Out @ Silver Bird

Introduction

On Tuesday, I went to Avenue K to eat at Silver Bird. It was my friend's restaurant that was started up by his Uncle. He's helping out by pretty much doing everything from marketing, managing, hiring. I feel bad for him because he really needs a team. It's tough being a one man show. Anyways, I will be giving my usual food review!

**Silver Bird **

As mentioned earlier, Silverbird is a restaurant that specializes in Hong Kong food. The food at this restaurant has a mix of hong kong and western culture. They aim to bring the authentic taste of Hong Kong to Malaysia hence their tagline "The Taste of Hong Kong". According to my friend, they import ingredients from Hong Kong which is good to know. The restaurant is convenient to go to by Kelana Jaya LRT line since you can get off at KLCC station and walk right into the mall. They also have a good average review on google coming out at 4.2 stars out of 96 reviews. I'm not too sure about the all you can eat part as I don't think they have a buffet but I could be wrong.

Food

Since it was my friends' restaurant, we let him choose to order the food since he should know what's the best. We shared the food among the three of us.

The first item you can see here is the beef fried rice. I thought it was ok but it wasn't amazing.

The second dish was a beef noodle soup. The beef was nice and the noodles were good. The soup could've been a bit better; it was missing some of the beef umph according to one of my friends which I agreed.

The third dish was instant noodles but Hong Kong style. The noodles were a bit dry here and I'm not sure about the other ingredients on the plate since i didn't eat them.

The last dish was a french toast Hong Kong style. I believe there was peanut butter in the middle. I'm not too sure. I also learned something new eating this dish and it was this special golden syrup called Taikoo. Apparently, this is like the OG of syrups and if a restaurant in Hong Kong is not using it, then they are "cheap" my friend said.

As for the drink, I had some red tea. No idea what exactly is in it but I actually enjoyed it. It felt like a mix of Chinese tea and some sort of syrup.

Concluding Thoughts

I have no idea about the bill on this one but I reckon it was near RM75-RM100 which is around $18-25 usd. I guess my friend treated us to the meal since the food wasn't up to his standard. I enjoyed eating here and would consider eating again to support my friend. I wasn't able to get any photos of the menu since they focused QR code ordering.

Thank you for reading and the support. Please do share your eating out moments in the eating out community! Hoping to grow this community.
