Introduction
About two weeks ago, I went to eat out at Nam Heong after work. I took the lrt from Wawasan to USJ19 and walked to main place. I actually never ate at this restaurant franchise before so this was my first time and I will be sharing my experience.
Nam Heong
Nam Heong is a Chinese restaurant that specializes in chicken rice but they also have other options. According to their Facebook, they have the Malaysia book of records for oldest Hainanese chicken rice in Malaysia. This is also what they are known for. I looked online and this shop was started in Ipoh by three immigrants from Hainan China. Honestly, the place has great reviews on google averaging at 4.3 out of 159 reviews. Based on the reviews, it was worth a shot for me to try. It was a bit of a late dinner so I also ordered a siew mai because I thought I would still be hungry. The siew mai was alright but I think for the price it wasn't really worth it.
Food
I ordered a mix of roast chicken and steamed chicken. It came with rice, vegetables and soup. They also have a chilli sauce and garlic scallion sauce. I love the garlic scallion sauce with the steamed chicken. It really enhances the flavor and I'm not sure how to explain; it's something that you just have to try. I also got a chinese tea ice since it was super cheap at RM1 and refillable.
Concluding Thoughts
All in all, I enjoyed the food. The food was delicious, In fact since that time I went there, I've actually went again the week after. I don't think the mixed chicken was worth it though. I would recommend just going for the steamed chicken. The price was a bit expensive because of the siew mai. The damage came out to be (RM33.90) but I think without the mix chicken and siew mai, I probably could've stayed under RM20 which is about 4.6 USD.

Bummer, they also do bill rounding there. Bill rounding is a scam.
In these day of credit cards, debit cards and other electronic payment modes, we should be able to pay the exact amount. Bill rounding should only be for cash payment.
what to do TT. Business owners will want to try to get more money! we can't do much about it unless maybe protest but will it change from that?
