Introduction

On Monday, I played pickleball at X Park Sunway South Quay. I actually went there last week to play as well with the same group of people. We decided to choose this place because they close at 12 but we actually stayed there and played a bit over time. That day we played like an extra hour and didn't have to pay for it. Anyways after playing pickleball, it was around 2am that the group decided to eat at Murni Discovery. There's actually not many places open that late so the choices were limited.

Murni Discovery

Murni Discovery is a franchise that would be considered a mamak. They specialize in traditional Malaysian food but I've seen that they also incorporated some western style in their menu. I think this is the second time I've been to a Murni. The first time was during my university days but I don't remember much about it. The branch we went to was the one at Sunway. You can see here that the reviews are alright. It's sitting near a 4 star out of 5 with over 2000 reviews.

Food

I ordered the spaghetti beef meatball bolognese. Honestly, I was shocked with the portion. It reminded me of American portions. I feel the portion was super generous compared to other places that served this similar dish. They also gave 5 decently sized beef meatballs. All this was for about RM18 and this is such a steal for this price. Obviously, it could be a lot cheaper homemade but for outside food this is probably the best bang for your buck. It was delicious and I have no complaints about this dish.

As for the drink, I ordered an orange special smoothie. The size of this drink was amazing as well for the price. It was like 22oz for only RM7.50. I feel that this was such a steal. Normally I could order a milkshake and it would be double this price or even getting a smoothie at boost juice would be over RM10. If getting the smoothie at this price wasn't good enough, they are also generous to put some lychee and some square shaped boba in the drink as well.

Concluding Thoughts

I don't have a receipt for this meal since my cousin paid and I banked in to him later. This place was amazing. It's probably one of the most wallet friendly places I've seen. The food is just so worth and I'm not sure if their business is having enough margins but I guess they must be doing something right if they have 11 outlets.
