No matter how much one prefers homemade food over eating out, there are instances where you can't escape eating out unless you are ready to go for unnecessary starvation, hehehe. Personally, I love eating out once in a while regardless of any circumstances that made me eat out. Sometimes, I will just feel like leaving my kitchen, taking a pause from kitchen activities, and having a taste of other meals prepared by someone else, but I must admit that it's never a regular thing.
This time, the long journey I had with my kids during Christmas prompted me to eat out in a new restaurant I had never visited before in Enugu. While we were on the trip from Lagos State to Enugu City, our driver stopped by a restaurant in Ondo State so that every passenger could rest and probably eat. As expected, my kids were already hungry after 6 hours on the road trip, and we still had 6 more hours ahead before arriving at our destination. So I decided to get some food for us at this restaurant in Ondo State, which I don't even know the name of... lol
The food was very expensive and small in quantity. It doesn't worth the cost in any way. The taste wasn't bad anyway, but almost everyone who bought the food with me complained about how expensive their food is. I wouldn't blame them anyways; their customers are exclusively travelers who wouldn't have any other choice but to stop by and refuel their stomachs no matter the cost of the food.
Still on the journey, we arrived at Enugu very late at night and couldn't locate our hometown that night. We had to lodge in a nearby hotel, and in the morning, I decided to visit a nearby restaurant for breakfast. The Sheraton restaurant was the one very close to the hotel we lodged in, and I decided to have a taste of their meal before buying takeout for my children.
I must admit that their food is very tasty; all the African delicacies you can think of are well garnished over there. What surprises is the cost; it's not too exorbitant like the food we had in the Ondo restaurant and still very tasty with good and warm welcoming services I received.
I didn't hesitate to get some packs of food for my children after devouring the rice and chicken I ate over there. It was indeed a nice meal experience worth every penny I spent.
If you are in Enugu and feel like eating out, Sheraton restaurant in New Heaven is a good recommendation, not too expensive, and has very nice meals and good services they render over there.
As much as I was trying so hard to read, the rice and chicken kept entering my eyes 😀
