3-hour date: Carl's Junior & Baba Nyonya

in Eating Out3 months ago (edited)

Our first dating spot was about to close down, so we went all the way there for memory sake. It was also my first time trying Carl's Junior burgers and I was stoked. Let's - for the last time!

Lunch at Carl's Junior!

Thanks to Mom who took care of my youngest son so we could go further away from where we stayed to walk down our memory lane. Going to our very first spot of our very first dating, haha!

Right down I am writing this, this outlet had closed down for good, for what reason, we did not ask. But, it was good we came back here, and took some photos for memories' sake. I remembered those days when we were dating, we needed to count every cents in order to come here to eat the burgers. And we were so excited to date lol!

There were not many customers, so perhaps that was the reason. Nowadays, so many new burger restaurants blooming everywhere, it is indeed a tight competition.

Still have the salsa refillable area!

I don't see this in other outlets except this one, what a memory!

The place was so spacious and clean, all the workers still as diligent eventhough it was their last day, too bad, we gonna say bye bye to this outlet.

Husband went to order. We had picked our burgers, Super Star Cheese and I chose Philly Cheese steak burger.

Oh my, I really savoured every mouthful and truly enjoyed ourselves as we rekindled our memories. We talked about how much we had grown as an individual.

Then, we said bye bye to the staffs there and wish them great luck and the bestest of bestest!

Baba Nyonya

The noon was still early so I told the husband to go another shop for hot coffee, because the meal seemed incomplete without coffee, lol. We saw this and without hesitation, this spot was chosen.

Love the 'batik' mixed Nyonya kind of design on the floor, as well as the chairs being designed into layer-kuih-like style.

I ordered a 'pulut inti' aka pyramid glutinous rice topped with brown sugar dessicated coconut and also 'ondeh-ondeh' aka balls with brown sugar inside. I, of course, ordered my coffee while my husband ordered a bubur cha-cha. We sat there for awhile to do some work on gadgets, on our own, just treasuring each other's silence.

That was it! It was a wrap! Three-hour date with my husband on weekday. We were busy nowadays and when we were able to be out together, it was really precious.
