Sonic Forces - Running Battles (2017) (Android video game) review (2022.11.02)

This is an older game, but it is still in development (last updated on 2022.10.25). I discovered this game yesterday (on 2022.11.01). This is an online multiplayer Sonic racing game for Android.

I tested it on Android 12 on my Samsung Galaxy A12 smartphone.

There are multiple maps (tracks) and multiple characters to play with. Each map (track) has multiple lanes. There are various obstacles and bonuses in the lanes. Finishing the race in the first three positions is a win.

I played 30 races so far. I finished first in 11 races. Usually I finish second or third. I unlocked 4 characters so far. My favorite character is currently Wave.

Currently there are 67 characters, and every character is upgradable.

The races are often very exciting. Sometimes a rival is literally o me.

There are various tiers. I am currently in the Tier 3 (Fighter). By moving up on the tiers, you unlock new maps (tracks), and better chest rewards.

The next tier is Tier 4 (Specialist).

There are missions too.

You can receive multiple in-game rewards by completing a mission. You can double the rewards by watching an advertisement (usually a video).

And this is the only downside/disadvantage of this game. The video advertisements are often coming automatically. Literally after every race. And these videos are often unskippable. Sometimes they take 30 seconds.

I rate this game 8/10. Without the advertisement videos, I would rate it 10/10. It gives many hours of fun.
