yes, it is turn-based. A lot of people really don't like that but it appeals to us older gamers who were around when turn-based was really the only thing that was available due to limitations in the technology. They do a good job to have the turns be somewhat interactive because if you get the timing right on some button presses you can reduce damage taken and increase your damage output.

I'm at the part of the game where it starts getting a bit difficult now and I have died at multiple places and not just bosses. Sometimes I just forget to heal my party between battles.

Isn't this good though because it's not fun if it's too easy.

As for the a lot of people don't like it are u sure? theres 87% positive reviews across like almost 4k reviews on steam

yes it is good that it gets more difficult as it progresses. You always have the option to turn on and off these little trinkets that make it easier but I am resisting the urge to do this because for one thing, if you do turn on one them, it completely negates the need for cooking and resource gathering which is a rather large part of the game.

Oh, I hadn't seen the steam reviews. I guess its because I don't really play anything on PC.

😅but it shouldn't be too different from console . Just the device and maybe the inputs keyboard + mouse vs controller .

I see interesting they give it option to make it easier. Maybe it's to appeal to the not so hardcore gamers and let them have fun because they won't die as much? So it has its positives
