This and Klonoa were the games that made me realize just how cool 2D/2.5D gaming could be on the 32-Bit consoles. Sure, Clockwork Knight on Saturn was cool though it was painfully slow in my opinion. I mean, it was fun blasting other cars in 3D in Twisted Metal, racing hovercraft in Wipeout, etc but for me, 2D side scrolling games were my games of choice.

Too bad this updated 2D style didn't receive as much love as the other genres on 32-Bit consoles.
