it gets much easier as you get past the first 1/3 of the game. Perhaps this is where the game "tapers off" as far as difficulty is concerned. Searching through the Reddit threads though, I found that a lot of people left the game because it was too tough but I think that is just the design of the game. It is so different from anything that I've played before that I think people were more confused than they were overwhelmed. It's not a soulslike, that's for sure.
