Hello friends, I am Ancez and I love playing video games, my heart and soul are of a gamer. Some time ago I bought this game on steam to make a complete guide. I was delighted with the game as the context and gameplay are the same as Castlevania Symphony of the night. The PSOne classic that many would have played especially old school.

Today I bring you a review about this game. First you know that you can get it for many platforms including PS5, PS4, XBOX ONE, XBOX Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC. Developed by WSS Playground and its release on the market in Q1 of 2021.

The game is based on the work in Ryo Mizuno's Record of Lodoss War series, taking place before the events of The Crown of the Covenant. Controlling the High Elf Deedlit, who finds herself in a strange interconnected labyrinth. I investigated the latter on the Internet since I am not a faithful follower of Ryo Mizuno's works. But for those who liked to delve into things, there is an important piece of information to explore an entire interesting work.

Let's get to the heart of the game. The gameplay is platformer with action where you will have to make your way through a labyrinth with secrets and monsters inside. Full of puzzles, weapons, spells and magic. Also bosses waiting for you to turn back.

If you like platform games or have played castlevania that maintain their old style or similar to SOTN, this game is surely for you.

The graphics are 2D with some 3D effects. The art is well done, full of details in its backgrounds, rooms and landscapes with colorful and well contrasted sprites.

The history of the game, although in principle it would be richer if it is known about the rest of Mizunos' work. It puts you in the well-defined psychological context, of someone who is facing himself, who is in the internal labyrinth of the mind where little by little you will obtain details of what brought this elf to be in those circumstances.

All the archetypal background of the game brings to mind a well-crafted story, which is why Ryo's work denotes being interesting.

About the music we have a whole soundtrack of different nuances of electronic music. I leave you with a list of songs that you can listen to on youtube or why not buy the DLC on steam.

As for the duration of the game, it can be finished in an afternoon, approximately 3 hours to 4 hours if you are one of those who play this type of game a lot. And more hours if you are an amateur, after finishing you have extra modes with the bosses and some powerful weapons that can be obtained, as well as a better level of difficulty for the tryhard.

Conclusion, if you like platform games, you are a lover of castlevanias and their alternative versions, this is a nice game to explore and remember those hours changing screens killing enemies completing a vast map.

Thank you for read!

I'm a huge fan of Record of Lodoss War and it was super exciting to see that the creators of Touhou Luna Nights (another great metroidvania) was making a game inspired by that universe!

Oh, I'm research this masterpiece and looking for games called "metroidvania". They take me to the past when I play metroid to Snes and castlevania to PSX when I was a little kid. Now I'm only a kid... lol. Kind Regards bro :D
