Talking a little about Batman Arkham Knight

Hello community, I am new and this is my first publication and I am a super fan of video games and even more so of Batman games and today I will talk to you about my experience and feelings with it, This post may contain spoilers.

Without a doubt, this is the best game in the Batman Arkham video game saga. Not because the others are bad games, but because this one, maintaining the bases of gameplay, genre and way of telling the story, greatly improves all aspects of the game, compared to its predecessors. For me there are 2 clear strong points in the game. The first is the narrative, and the second is the gameplay, but even so we will talk about more things in this review. First, let's talk about my favorite aspect of video games, which is the narrative and characters. This game has the same way of telling the story as the previous ones, but in this one it is done much better. The cinematics are very well correlated with the gameplay, the conversations while you move around the city provide very basic information, but interesting, as it should be, and supports the gameplay very well. Within the narrative of this game, I find 2 very good and strong points. They are the characters and the Joker. -And you will say, but if the Joker is a character, why don't you put him in the same bag? Simply because he has a very different role in the story than the others. The Joker, despite being dead from the previous game chronologically speaking, represents a great narrative resource that helps a lot to delve deeper into Batman, in his mind. He constantly appears on the map, near Batman and, although he never interacts with him, he sweats from the Joker directly, Joker talks to him constantly, analyzing his mind, since it is a product of his imagination, it is in his head, but in a way Very cool, as if she still lived, inside her mind. In short, the interaction between Batman and the Joker seems to me to be the best in the game. And despite being inside his head, not being a character that interacts with the story and the events, the development of the story still ends up having a lot to do with him. I mean, even dead, he's still pretty much the best character in the entire game. As for the rest of the characters, what I loved was the quantity and quality. That is to say, there are practically all the characters from the world of Batman, but even so they are all well introduced and developed, in my opinion. Those that appear little and have little impact on the story, such as Firefly, Two-Face, etc., have the right and necessary development, and those that appear more and have more importance, such as Riddler, Scarecrow or the Arkham Knight, have a much more complete and great development. Seeing so many characters is something that fascinated me. But the quality of them, at least of the main ones, whether they are friends like Nightwing or Poison Ivy, or enemies like Arkham Knight or Scarecrow, is super great. The allies have a great role in the development of the story and as characters, such as Ivy's sacrifice, and the final bosses have a tremendous ending, as is the case of the Arkham Knight or Jason, who has a brutal character development, a very good plot twist and some very well designed boss fights and developed in stages. -Although we could talk a thousand more things about the characters in this game, let's now talk about the playability or gameplay. We have the same Hack and Slash fighting system as before and the same parkour. We also have practically the same toys or devices. However, by having a much better defined and varied branch of skills, they give a lot of variety of movements to both combat and parkour. This makes it much more fluid, varied, entertaining and fun to play. For example, we have triple or quadruple elimination for intimidation, which is great, very useful and extremely satisfying. On the move we have the Batmobile, which I think is one of the best things they have introduced as a novelty in this game. They even use it in the narrative as an element of sacrifice and change, when he sacrifices the car at the end to save himself from an attack by the Arkham Knight and renews himself by bringing another one with a slightly different skin. But returning to the gameplay, the car is something wonderful, super fun to break things, destroy tanks, move at full speed through the city, eject yourself at such speed, it even serves to overcome obstacles and open new paths with the hook, which is a lot of fun. , it's something brutal. And using the Batmobile as a link, let's talk about the gameplay element that I liked most about the game, and probably what I liked most about this Batman along with his characters. I'm talking about the world and the side quests. The world was not fully developed in its predecessors, such as City or Origins. They were missing something. This game already gives us a totally free open world, much more explorable and enjoyable and it is thanks to the amount of elements and details it has, the secondary missions to complete throughout the map,the batmobile that gives us a perspective more on foot than just in the air by gliding and jumping across the rooftops, as before. It's super fun to explore the map, whether by flying or by car. The secondary missions also seem very well organized and developed to me. So much so, that it encourages you to complete them very well. That is to say, Batman are game that, once the story is completed, until now, the rest could not matter more

But in this title, whether due to the development of the story, the curiosity of how the main campaign, that is, what I called "Permanence" in my university TFG research. These missions are satisfying to complete because they are very well organized. -To finish, let's talk about some aspects of the game that I also liked, or that I didn't. The general design of the game, levels and so on, seemed pretty good to me. They guide the player well towards what he should do. However, there are times when it has been difficult for me to figure out what to do with certain things, so, although my uselessness must be taken into account, it is also worth saying that it has its small flaws or imperfections at this point. On the other hand, I think the game and level design is very good, especially with the Batmobile. The types of tanks and enemies in general are very well scaled in difficulty, all with their own difficulty, their tricks to overcome, weak points, etc. Everything is very well executed, and it is a pleasure. Another important point of the gameplay that I loved and that I have not commented on in that section would be the topic of investigation. Another aspect of previous games that have improved incredibly. There are crime scenes or story scenes in which you have to find out what happened, and to do this you first analyze certain elements of the scenario, recreate a scene based on holograms and you can zoom in or rewind what happened to find clues and that seemed super brilliant. Also when you analyze the bodies of the killer Pyg, you have several layers to analyze the corpses, the skin, the muscle and the bones, and that aspect is also kind of brutal. And well this would be all, I know there are more things that can be commented and I could spend days writing here, but with what I have analyzed so far I think it is enough. In short, it seems to me that they couldn't have done a better job of taking the Batman Arkham formula and improving it enormously, up to this point. There is still room for improvement and I expect that from these people who, since there are already 3 different studios developing these games, I no longer know who does what hahahahaha. But I really want to play the next title in this great franchise.
