Disney Speedstorm could be another Multiverse

It seems that Disney is betting seriously to the video game with their characters, I have never seen too interested in the world's largest entertainment company in a sector where it is difficult to enter without having suffered before.

But if there is someone who has enough money to lose, get back up and build something along the way that is Disney, this time they have chosen Gameloft as responsible for this new bet and just a few days ago they have given us some details as well as its release date.

April 18th

This is when we will be able to initially test this Free-2-Play, although in a somewhat strange way at the beginning, since we will have to pay an initial contribution to test the game even in its early stage.

The game recently had an exhibition where several reporters and critics were able to play the game first hand and see exactly if it was another half-baked Disney project, as they have been trying to sell us their vision of a video game for quite some time, I dare say without much success, Disney of course has had collaborations that I consider successful as the Star Wars video games.

But the games where the main characters are the main characters of all disney have a particular relationship with this medium because disney has only lent their characters for a couple of productions among which I can highlight is Kingdom Hearts or games like Epic Mickey that frankly are not bad, although nothing remarkable.

In this game they seem to want to take a leap in the typical gameplay of racing games, giving a little more depth to what we can do on the track that surely the most experienced will be a surprise.

Disney has not left the development of this game to a nobody, Gameloft have extensive experience with titles like Asphalt in their portfolio so the feeling that this Mario Kart style game is safe with them is at best an insurance to consider playing it at some point, at the moment it seems to be pay to play which will help improve the game itself but the general idea is to make this a Free-2-Play.

Mainfree

It is an idea that has potential without a doubt, besides that we have all the potential of the characters of Disney itself and everything that refers to the songs and what can be integrated with the creation of levels that according to v to have this game, seeing a little of the advances come to my head games like Hot Wheels that are also well without highlighting too much.

Seeing some of the previews of the game I think that first this game is in good hands, seeing a little more I can see that if it seems to have taken inspiration from the look of the characters in Disney Infinity and it seems that we will have several outfits to choose from as well as tracks inspired by the movies to run in them.

I'm cautiously excited to try this game, at least in its free version because I don't think I'm going to pay anything for a Disney game, they are not one of the companies that I like the most so I prefer to wait until they release something a little more ambitious, anyway there we have a game to get some good times if the online allows it, it will be multiplatform so I hope it has a big community.

Fun fact: Disney actually already had a mario kart clone. It was made for the N64 and called Mickey's speedway!

I just saw a trailer for this and it doesn't look too bad, maybe a bit generic, but honestly when I think of a driving game of this style, there's not much new you can introduce. I recently played the latest Mario Kart on the switch and it's not exactly a marvel, it's fun and that's it.

maybe the fact that it's generic is to play it safe and not risk too much, yes I was seeing that there are some things that will be a bit more focused on hardcore gamers but being disney it's hard for me to believe this.
