To be honest, when I first started playing Pokemon, I found this concept to be really amazing. Plus I believe that it's concept when it first came out was very unique.
But now it's relieving that Pokemon home is available to reduce the worry of if two games are compatible.
It's still pretty unique if you do it through the original Nintendo systems. However, Pokémon Home is not so much a solution as I see it as progress, however you have to pay their subscription x_x Thanks a lot for your comment and interest in my post!
