Right after posting that comment, I retried and it let me through, but on some different server probably because the language was non-understandable. But I knew enough after claiming so many free games of where to navigate to. And finally, bagged it.

Very nice! Yeah, I'd read some reports that some users were getting redirected to working servers even if they were in different languages. I was just playing GTA Online a bit this past week trying to get back into it, but now it'll be a bit crazy to see how packed GTA's online servers are after this happened lol.
