RE: Pokémon TCG Pocket Review: A Casual Gamer's Perspective

in Hive Gaming3 months ago

Pokemon definitely is a great legacy franchise, but I hope they can move towards blockchain gaming so that the digital cards can be NFT and start having value. This is what Splinterlands was able to revolutionize and pioneer of.

I was a Magic The Gathering TCG fan and this is what led me to Splinterlands. If you haven't tried yet, I would highly recommend for TCG lovers. Timing-wise, I think now's the best time to enter as well after the hype has died down. :)

Going back to your Pokemon TCG mobile experience, do you think it's something you would continue playing? For free or willing to invest on physical cards, in-app purchases? I would like to try, although what's holding me back is I don't want to spend much unless it's really worth it.

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! I completely agree that Pokémon is a legacy franchise with a huge opportunity to explore blockchain gaming. It’s something that could definitely add a whole new level of value to the game, just like what Splinterlands has done.

As for the Pokémon TCG mobile experience, I think I’d still keep playing it for fun. The nostalgic vibes are real! But if I’m being honest, I’m sticking to the free side of things for now.

It’s not that I’m against spending, but I’d want to make sure it’s really worth it. I feel the same way—you want to enjoy it without feeling like you're throwing money at something unless it really adds to the experience.

If you’re thinking of trying it out, maybe start with the free version to see if it clicks with you. There’s no pressure, and you might end up enjoying it more than you expect.
