I Survived Skull Rock In Hardcore World of Warcraft - (The Life of Skruk)

in Hive Gaming2 months ago

There's a rule of thumbs in Hardcore World of Warcraft: Stay away from anything that shares the name with a server. One of those places are Skull Rock that you can find in Durotar, the Orc starting zone. It's located just east of Orgrimmar and looking on the heatmap of where the most deaths happen this place is blood red. Through all this, Skruk has made it through.

Certified Rogue

When I left off last time I mentioned that I was going to do my level 10 Rogue quest. Will I did and it was rather easy. I just had to find a guy walking along the road and kill him so that I could look a letter of his corpse which let me pretend to be him. My reward was a dagger that I'm still using four levels later. It's a good reward.

In the aftermath of this I finished up the last remaining quests I had in Tirisfal Glades, the Undead starting area, and decided to head over to Durotar to soak up some quest experience from there. This instead of heading into Silverpine Forest which would be the next natural area to head to as an Undead.

Since I'm playing on Hardcore mode I'm not interested in rushing things and I'd rather do a few extra low level quests to stay just a little bit ahead of the curve as I'm going into new zones. Being underleveled can easily kill me and I don't want to waste me single life on something as stupid as being impatiend. So, I jumped on the zeppelin and headed over to the orange land of Durotar.

Skull Rock

I spent a few hours cleaning up most of the quests throughout the zone. At least the ones that would yield me experience. No real challenges were faced until I set out for Skull Rock. The infamous cave that most people choose to skip out of fear of dying. Even at four levels above the enemies here I was quite scared to head in. I decided to camp the entrance for a few minutes and group up with the other adrenaline junkies headed this way.

Five minutes later I was in a full group and I was quite amazed at how we steamrolled this place. All the people putting Skull Rock down as such a dangerous place must not have thought to group up with others. You're just so much safer in a group that you are alone. I was able to level up to level 14 while I was here so all in all this run was a great success. None of us ever came close to dying.

Now awaits Silverpine Forest. Home of the Son of Urugal. One of the singlemost deadliest creatures in the game. He's a level 25 elite that roams the entire zone and preys on any low level adventurer he finds. Let's hope he doesn't end up feasting on Skruk.

I loved the strategy of staying ahead of the level curve and teaming up for tricky spots. Silverpine Forest sounds no joke either, good luck with it, stay sharp out there.

It's making the leveling slower but it's working out. Still alive.

that's not rfc

I have noticed that since there is this Hardcore mode, many people have been playing it non-stop to prove who is the best survivor warrior, and it's a great thing, as it is very difficult to face certain enemies, because you only have one life, you must be having a great time playing it.
