This Christmas started strong. The guys were talking about Terraria all the time, a game that became one of my favorites because of the amount of content and crazy moments it gave us. We wanted to play something chill, far from League of Legends or Valorant matches, so I took advantage of Core Keeper releasing an update and mentioned it to them. Core Keeper is a game I bought in 2022, which I fell in love with at first sight. Even though it was in early access, I think I even made a post about the game a while ago, but I really don’t remember.

I only played 3-4 hours back then and I don’t think I progressed much, so it was perfect to take advantage of the fact that they had just released more content, plus the content added after early access.

At first they insulted me and told me that game was garbage, obviously all joking around, and little by little they joined my world.

@oldfool, @dog3zz, @brataka and my good friend Miguel took advantage of the game discount and we played for several hours.

In those hours we discovered several things and we also defeated the great Glurch, our first boss. It really wasn’t complicated, that giant slime only jumped on top of us and left a goo that slowed us down a lot, making it easier for him to deal damage to us. By just timing where he was going to jump it was impossible to take damage, except in his second phase, where he starts jumping much faster, and enemies in this game can oneshot you.

We also started building our base and we decided to make it near the main spawn, where there are 3 cores or capsules that help you progress. In each core goes a boss gem and, after that, the story moves forward, but that will be for another post.

That image above is the beginning of our base, but now it looks VERY different. In this game you can automate a lot, but we are not taking advantage of those mechanics for now; at least I like to do certain things manually.

I have to say that, compared to Terraria, in this game we have progressed a bit slower and we have saved the content to enjoy it together. We only progress when most of us are able to play and, if we are not all able to play, I just start the server and stay AFK or take care of the crops, but I really don’t progress in the story and I also don’t get that powerful.

I hope to progress and keep enjoying this game with my friends. My class is warlock, so in theory I should have some advantage at the beginning, but I think in this game you can fill any role you like until covering them all. See you in the next one, my boomers!

Esta Navidad empezó potente. Los muchachos todo el tiempo hablaban de Terraria, un juego que se convirtió en uno de mis favoritos por la cantidad de contenido y momentos locos que nos dejó. Queríamos jugar algo tranquilo, lejos de las partidas de League of Legends o Valorant, así que aproveché que Core Keeper había lanzado una update y se los mencioné. Core Keeper es un juego que compré en 2022, el cual me enamoró a primera vista. Aunque estaba en early access, creo que incluso hice un post acerca del juego hace tiempo, pero realmente no lo recuerdo.

Jugué solo 3-4 horas en ese entonces y creo que no avancé mucho, así que era perfecto aprovechar que justamente habían lanzado más contenido, además del contenido que se lanzó después del early access.

A la primera ellos me insultaron y me dijeron que ese juego era una porquería, obviamente todo en tono de broma, y poco a poco se fueron sumando a mi mundo.

@oldfool, @dog3zz, @brataka y mi buen amigo Miguel aprovecharon el descuento del juego y jugamos varias horas.

En esas horas descubrimos varias cosas y también vencimos al gran Glurch, nuestro primer jefe. Realmente no fue complicado, ese slime gigante solo saltaba encima de nosotros y dejaba una baba que nos ralentizaba bastante, haciendo que fuese más sencillo para él hacernos daño. Con solo timear a dónde iba a saltar era imposible recibir daño, exceptuando en su segunda fase, que comienza a saltar mucho más rápido, y los enemigos en este juego te pueden oneshotear.

También empezamos a construir nuestra base y decidimos hacerla cerca del spawn principal, en donde hay 3 núcleos o cápsulas que ayudan a avanzar. En cada núcleo va una gema de jefe y, después de eso, la historia avanza, pero eso ya será para otro post.

Esa imagen de arriba es el inicio de nuestra base, pero ahora luce MUY diferente. En este juego se puede automatizar mucho, pero nosotros no estamos aprovechando esas mecánicas de momento; al menos a mí me gusta hacer ciertas cosas manualmente.

Tengo que decir que, en comparación a Terraria, en este juego hemos avanzado un poco más lento y hemos reservado el contenido para disfrutarlo en conjunto. Únicamente avanzamos cuando estamos la mayoría para jugar y si no estamos todos para jugar, solo inicio el servidor y me quedo AFK o cuido los cultivos, pero realmente no progreso en la historia y tampoco me hago tan poderoso.

Espero progresar y seguir disfrutando de este juego junto a mis amigos. Mi clase es brujo, así que en teoría debería tener cierta ventaja al inicio, pero creo que en este juego puedes suplir cualquier rol que te guste hasta cubrirlos todos. ¡Nos vemos en la siguiente, mis boomers!
